Ford 2V Carb rebuild
Ford 2V Carb rebuild. Working on a 1965 Mustang for a local preacher. I pulled the carb and took it apart. I noticed the float was also in bad shape. So I priced the rebuild kit and a float. The cost was around $50.00. I bought a rebuilt carb on EBAY for $70.00 delivered to the front door. Which way do you think I wet? Willie Moore StreetRodding

  • Thanks for the comments.. The car was new for the $70.00. It worked out great and runs like an old Mustang... Another grand success....

  • I just rebuilt the same carb on my 57 Wagon. Same light brown powdered corrosion on the inside. All went well...but I was distracted and forgot to clip the float retainer in place...yeah great huh? Gas all over but luckily no fire. cleaned up the mess and clipped it in place. Good to go. A 15 mins soak removed the corrosion and clear goo. Had the same stuff in a Ford 200 six carb a month ago. Gas isn't like it used to be anymore. It gets real strange if you let it sit.

  • So Willie, the rebuilt carb you bought, how'd it work out? Every time I do that I still end up with problems.

  • I'm not sure how to answer this one, because I don't know how the fact that the car is owned by a preacher effects the outcome.....
Is he a good preacher, or a bad one?

    Just kidding you will!
