Drain Plug Issues
Drain Plug Issues. So I noticed a spot of oil under a classic car that I just bought. Looks to be the drain plug leaking. Man I bought the car from said the gasket was bad on the drain plug. I put the car on the rack and started to remove the drain plug. The drain plug as hand tight. And yes the gasket was Missing. No Gasket at all.

I just do not understand how the drain plug was only hand tight. Could have been a major issue. So I replaced the gasket and here is a novel idea use a wrench to tighten the drain plug.

  • Hey Will,
I was just thinking about this $3.99 fix of yours. We think it's nothing........

What if some of these old cars we deal with, could talk......... they might tell of a fix many years ago where the owner had to pay $3.99 and he thought that was just down right outrageous!

    Just a thought,
    Mike
