Flooding Down in Texas

This is a really good summary. Borrowed it from a friend's post...
Both Houston airports have been under tornado warnings and are closed. Every major road in Houston shut down. Ben Taub hospital is being evacuated. Only one way out of Brazoria county because every other way is under water. Everyone south of Hwy 6 and west of 288 are under mandatory evacuation...evacuating through the flood.
20,000 cruise passengers stranded in the gulf. Every waterway from Houston to the coast predicted to reach major flood stage within the next two days.
Most schools postponed until September 5 or 6. Bastrop bayou still rising, Austin bayou still rising, tornado warnings for many areas, and it's still raining. The suburbs of Houston also struggling with rising water from the bayous and creeks. Parts of Friendswood, Dickinson and League City have evacuated.
So far, we have been blessed. We are dry, have plenty of food, water and have power.
I have friends that have water in their homes and many have had to evacuate in the flood to other locations. Some people are still waiting to be rescued, please send prayers for safe rescues.
For my non-Houston friends- to help you understand the devastation:
Houston is huge. The greater metropolitan area is circled by the Grand Parkway - which is 170 miles long. That makes the area of the circle inside the Grand Parkway over 2200 sq. miles.
2200 square miles of densely habited, urban and suburban, areas is flooded.
Imagine if the entire state of Delaware, with twice the population of Manhattan, was under water.
And it's still raining. But we are Texas strong. And God is still with us...
