1940 Chevy Master Deluxe Sedan - $42,500.00
1940 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Sedan
Replacing the Eagle in the early 30s was the Master and Master Deluxe which was manufactured between 1933 and 1942. It was the more expensive model from Chevrolet at the time with the Standard being the inexpensive alternative. These years marked many changes in automobile design as we saw the still very prominent fenders start to be more incorporated into the body as well as the headlights which were previously entirely separate components. This 1940 Master Deluxe is a very clean car that was built here in Texas. It is all steel and entirely rust free. The paint/body work was done by RK in Kerville, TX and the car wears a very nice Dodge Viper Red paint. The car comes with a matching trailer that has airbrushing of this 40 Chevy cruising down Route 66. The car wears a lot of its original trim and chrome accents which are all shining nicely with no pitting or issues. All of the glass is in good condition as well and it has the two piece windshield up front. Both the car and trailer have LED taillights and all of the electrical components are working properly. Pictured you will see the trailer wears a front bra to keep the paint protected but the car comes with one as well. Both sit on a matching set of American Racing Torque Thrust II Wheels with Chevy bowtie center caps.
The mechanical work was completed by Good Ol' Days in Ingram, TX and was very well done. It has been driven 39,245 miles since so it has been broken in but is still very fresh with a lot of life left. The car has a 350 V8 crate motor and runs well. It has been fitted with a polished aluminum intake, Edelbrock 600 cfm carb, polished single wire alternator, polished AC compressor, polished valve covers, Taylor 8mm spark plug wires, polished wire looms, Sanderson headers, a K&N air filter, Mallory billet unilite distributor, cool flex hoses, aftermarket Walker aluminum radiator, mechanical fan with shroud, electric fan, billet overflow tank and pro master coil. The car sounds great with a custom dual exhaust system that exits through 4 Chevy bowtie tips. Backing up the motor is a 700R4 automatic transmission with B&M transmission cooler that transfers power back to the 12 bolt posi rear end with 3:55 gears. The front and rear suspension are from Chassis engineering and the front is an independent suspension system. It has also been upgraded with 9" disc brakes up front and there is a remote reservoir for the dual master cylinder. Other nice components include power steering, the relocated Optima red top battery, 19 gallon stainless tank, and custom fuel filler.
The interior is done in a Tan/Beige combination and was completed by Anderson's in Ingram, TX. It really looks nice and is in great shape. The ultra leather seats have suede inserts and Chevy bow tie embroidering on the tops. There are matching lap belts throughout including the rear bench seat. The dash is painted to match the body and features a lot of the original features. The gauge cluster has all been recalibrated and is working properly. Under the dash an Am/FM raido with 10 disc CD changer as well as controls for the Old Car AC have been mounted. In front of the driver sits a painted tilt column topped off with a leather wrapped banjo steering wheel. The trunk of the car is all nicely upholstered as well and houses a spare and Chevy bow tie tool box. Storage is certainly no concern though because in addition to the trunk you have the added trailer making this is a car where you could load up your luggage and cruise across the country.
