1934 Ford Roadster - $57,500.00
1934 Ford Roadster
The 1934 Ford is infamously known as the classic that saw Bonnie and Clyde end their run as they were ambushed and killed in a stolen one of these cars in May of 1934. This association isn't all they are known for though because the 34 Ford is the base to some of the coolest hotrods on the road today. There is something about these classics that just beg to be turned into street rods. The clean 34 you see here is a more traditional car as the customizations have been kept very subtle while incorporating more traditional old school style. The car is all original Henry Ford steel except for the Bob Drake running boards and rear splash pan. The custom rear splash pan was created to incorporate tail lights because for a while the car was being driven as a Highboy. The fenders have since been reinstalled which have the original style taillights but should you ever decide to go back the Highboy route it is already set up and ready to go. The paint is a nice two tone combination that incorporates a light Blue on the body and a dark Blue on the fenders. The body was done around 15 years ago and the fenders around 5. One of the cool things about this car is the some of the history on it. It was originally turned into a Hotrod in 1952 and the current owner has actually known this car since 1955. He didn't get the chance to purchase until 20 years ago but still that is 65 years of knowing this exact classic! The chrome on the car is all good and it has its original bumpers which look great in front and rear. The retractable top on it is new and a Dark Blue cloth with rear glass. It comes with a clear plastic cover to keep it protected when stored. The wheels are nicely painted Red and have chrome hubcaps and wide white wall tires.
Continuing with the traditional style the car is powered by a 296 c.i. flathead V8 motor. It features Edelbrock heads, a 2 deuce intake, dual Stromberg 97 carburetors, a Harman Collins cam, Johnson adjustable lifters, Mercury crank, and headers with dual exhaust. The block has been relieved and bored to 3 5/8s. Paired with the motor is a 3 speed manual transmission transferring power back to the standard Ford rear end with 3:54 gears. Up front the car has a dropped, drilled, and filled I beam axle. The suspension is the original buddy spring suspension system. It has drum brakes on all four corners with Buick drums up front.
The interior of the car has all been redone in a Dark Blue leather and is in great shape. It has a Bench seat and custom door panels with arm rests. The dash is out of a 1940 Ford which is a cool touch. It utilizes all of the original 40 Ford styling, gauges, trim, etc. The column shift set up is also out of a 40 Ford as is the steering wheel. They suit the car nicely and look great. The trunk has been reupholstered as well and has a bench rumble seat.
This cool traditional hotrod has a lot of cool features and is ready to go!
