Want to relive the glory years of Ford dominating the race scene in the 1960s? Just show up at your local open track event with this 1965 Shelby Cobra replica, complete with gumball and sponsorship decals. Or, perhaps you're the more reserved type (yeah, as if a Cobra is anything but in-your-face), in which case you'll be pleased to learn that all those decals are completely removable. The good news, of course, is that the Cobra underneath is pretty darned nice. It's a Factory Five Mark 3, their state-of-the-art replica that's accurate enough to pull off the look, but carries a bunch of upgrades that Ol' Shel would probably have done himself if he'd had the resources. While the aluminum originals and mega-dollar replicas are nice, do you really want to risk someone leaning on it and making a dent? Of course not, so what you want is this car with its tough fiberglass skin. It's very professionally finished, with great gaps and a smooth surface for the bright Speedway Blue with Wimbledon ... When people ask me about the "best" old car for a first-time buyer, I inevitably tell them that a Model A Ford should be on everyone's wish list. Cars like this gorgeous 1931 deluxe roadster make fantastic hobby cars thanks to their reliability, performance, awesome parts availability, and driving dynamics. If you want a car that's easy to drive and gives you the true flavor of what old cars are about, and will attract a ton of attention while doing so, this Model A is for you. Few Model As are more desirable than the deluxe roadster, particularly one loaded with accessories like this one. With a first-class restoration that has mellowed only slightly and could be made show-ready again with just a little elbow grease, it represents a solid investment in fun. Washington Blue always looks best on roadsters, and combined with the black fenders and Straw pinstripe and wheels, it cuts a dashing profile. Sheetmetal is in excellent shape with professional-grade workmanship throughout, and the ... Read More...

Cars like this gorgeous 1966 Ford Thunderbird are a great study in the way the old car hobby works. For years, these 'Birds were also-rans and little more than used cars. Then a few years ago, people woke up and realized that they were more like baby Lincolns than simple Fords and values started inching up. Now, because of their affordability, people rarely put high-end restorations on these cars, but once in a while you come up with a gem like this that defies all logic and financial explanations. There just aren't many 1966 Thunderbirds nicer than this. OK, so that's not a Ford-sanctioned color, but isn't it stunning? If nothing else, it emphasizes the thin line between Ford's top-of-the-line personal/luxury car and the Lincolns above it. With all the attention it's sure to receive, it's a good thing that the sheetmetal is super straight, the panel alignment is tight, and the two-stage urethane paint looks like a million bucks. Despite a trend towards luxury, the use of chrome is res ... Read More...

This 1956 Chevrolet 3100 pickup demonstrates the joy of simplicity. In today's world where cars are rolling electronics labs, sometimes it's nice to sit in something that isn't trying so hard, something that just does its job like a machine and doesn't suffer without all those little accessories that will surely break sooner or later. With V8 power, a great-looking paint job, and a comfortable interior, you'll probably discover that simple is better. So let's start with the bodywork, which is very nicely done and finished in a very 1950s shade of bright turquoise. Chevy was the first to discover that making their trucks look good as well as able to work hard meant more buyers, and there's a reason trucks like this have become hot collectors' items of late. The best ones, like this one, are solid trucks with great workmanship and plenty of money thrown at them, with results that make them far too nice to be used as mere work vehicles. Great gaps, panels that were thoroughly reworked to ... Read More...

What if you could have a truck that looks like 1956 but drives like a muscle car? Well, here's the answer to your question, a spectacular 1956 Chevy 3100 pickup with a modern Corvette LT1 inside plus a cabin full of luxury options. Talk about having your cake and eating it too! Painted an updated, semi-metallic version of the old favorite Hunter Green, this Cameo pickup represents the first of the pickups that were actually styled by designers rather than merely engineered. As a result, they carry a lot of automotive-inspired design cues, and if you see a little bit of Shoebox Chevy in the design, the coincidence is purely intentional. Of course, the fact that it was finished to show standards certainly helps, and there's not a ripple, dent, pockmark, or dent anywhere on the beautiful surface of this truck. The paint is about a mile deep, and has been rubbed and buffed to a mirror-like shine. Enhancing the upscale look is a beautifully finished and slightly rustic knotty pine bed with ... Read More...

GTO fans, rejoice. Here's an unusual 1969 GTO convertible that keeps a very stock look but runs like it weighs 1000 pounds less than it does. How's that possible? How about a freshly built 408-inch Poncho that's been built for combat, a 200R4 4-speed automatic, and a suspension built to plant it. Oh, and did I mention that it's an ultra-clean Texas car with fresh paint and a tastefully upgraded interior. You're going to love it. The entire point of this car was to build a stock-looking 12-second GTO convertible. Have they succeeded? Well, you'll have to run it and let us know, because since the expensive engine was finished and that gorgeous Limelight Green paint was applied, it really hasn't turned a wheel in anger. That's the car's original color and when the time came for a fresh paint job, it was simply to freshen a car that's now more than four decades old, not to repair a rust bucket. As a result, it's super-straight with great panel alignment and looks outstanding from every ang ... Read More...

Popular cars are popular for a reason, and cars like this 1972 Nova remain a perennial best-seller here at Streetside Classics. Why? How about a combination of good looks, rumbling V8s under the hood, and a spacious, useful interior that works well today? This one, with its tasteful upgrades and impressive performance will answer any other questions you may have. The square-jawed Nova sure looked good, even after performance started to wane (not that it's a problem here-more on that in a moment). With chiseled contours that make it look like it was carved from a block of granite, this little Nova obviously doesn't put up with pretenders on the street. Its extroverted Torch Red paint job acts like a beacon, daring others to give it a run, but the smart ones know that light weight and a V8 mean that it'll be a handful no matter what they're driving. Although it was finished about eight years ago, this two-door still looks great which is a tribute to the workmanship and care it has receiv ... Read More...

Yes, this 1946 Chevy 3100 pickup is every bit as pretty in person as it appears in photos. From the period-correct red and black paint job to the wonderful wood bed, this vintage hauler is as charming as it is practical. With truck values on the rise, isn't it time you put one in your garage? If you want an old pickup, why not grab one that really looks the part? With gracefully rounded fenders, separate headlight pods, and lots of chrome, this is most definitely a product of the 1940s. Until recently, it didn't make much sense to restore one to this level because you'd be upside-down before the pant dried, but today there are a lot of reasons to invest in making them great. That means a quality paint job over sheetmetal that's been professionally refinished to remove any trace of its hard working former life. That means paint that shines like it belongs on a high-end collector car and not a mere Chevy pickup. And it means brilliant trim that glitters like jewelry. You'll also note thi ... Read More...

This 1967 Camaro is one of those cars you could look at for hours and still not see everything that's been tweaked, sanded, smoothed, or refinished. Not quite a resto-mod, it retains its original "Camaro-ness" but polishes it in such a way that this is a lot more than a garden-variety F-body. The familiar Camaro shape has been completely restored, and clearly the work was done on a rotisserie, because it's as clean underneath as it is up top. A steel cowl induction hood was installed during the reconstruction of the car, and it only emphasizes the ultra-clean lines of the early Camaro. A billet grille is a very welcome alternative to the ubiquitous blacked-out SS piece, and smooths the look of the car for a custom look. Out back, a ducktail spoiler adds traditional Camaro styling and while there's an SS gas cap, the rest of the car has been almost entirely de-badged save for basic Camaro on the front fenders. The paint is a totally custom mix that complements the ultra-smooth look, wit ... Read More...

This 1970 Buick GS was fully restored and has a beautiful finish. It is always a hit at car shows where it is always one of the more unique muscle cars in the lot. It is coated a very nice Red that has a great shine. The correct style hood is in place with dual center air dams that just add to that over all tough appearance. There is no doubt the car has a look that tells others you just don't want to mess with it. The chrome bumpers have a great shine and are cleanly mounted in place. All of the stainless trim around the grill, windows, and down the side have a nice finish with no issues. The rocker panel trim has matching Red paint and shines just as nicely as the rest...check out the full description or classicalgasmotors.com for more information! ... Read More...

This 1954 Chevrolet 4X4 pickup is incredibly unique and engineered to be one of the best drivers around. It handles like a dream and runs extremely well. The truck only has 2500 miles since restored and this was built up on a trip from the Carolinas to Florida and then back to Michigan where it currently resides. The build took 2 years to complete and was designed and constructed by the current owner. The body is very solid and sits on a 1994 GMC 4 wheel drive chassis. It is coated in a 1952 Chevrolet factory Green that really gives it a nostalgic look. All of the chrome has a nice finish and is cleanly mounted in place. The grill is off of a 53 Chevrolet and those iconic horizontal bars look great sitting in place. All of the glass is new and the truck has a sliding style rear window...check out the full description or classicalgasmotors.com for more information! ... Read More...
