I have the chance to buy a known 700R from a friend. This transmission was in a built 32 Ford with a 383 Roller and 4:11 gears. It has been in the car from day one, and has worked fine for 5 years. Talking with him about this, he said it had no 12 volts for the lockup. So it has to be locking on pressure I assume. Somebody tell me how this works, and is this a good bad or ugly way to do it.

We have asked our friend Bennie to think about a design for a new SR shirt, but we need a few other designs for use on a new page Eriq is working on. Any artist want to give it a try? You get the same pay Eriq and Al get (undying gratitude) and the opportunity to tell people "I did that!" We can let the masses chime in on which one is "The Look" and may end up using several around the site. Look at our StreetRodding.com logo and give us an improved version with a cool Street Rod!... In what way do you put your car up for the Winter(cold climates)? With snow, ice and salt I never drive my car during this time.I lay down 5/16" particle board 4'X8'----4 sheets on the concrete garage floor. This isolates the tires and undercarriage from the cold and moisture. I do not put the car on jacks in the event I need to move the car.I add Stabile to the gas. I don't keep the tank full. Usually 1/2. Not sure if this is a good idea because of condensation inside the tank??I'd appreciate your i ... Read All ...

I can't do much on my 37 Ford for now. Waiting for a new floor to come. So I have been thinking about something else I will still need to get and do. The wind sheild wipers came to mind. Now with money not in my pocket much for quite a while. I have to think of other ways of doing things. Now it would take at least a couple of years to save up enough to pay for a new Newport hookup, so I started thinking of what might do the same job, but be a whole lot cheaper. How about the wiper motors out of a couple of ... Read All ...

Just a reminder as I see these questions all the time.If you need transmission dimensions, ratios etc. go to- summitracing.com,then click on expert advice, then type in transmission dimensions in the search window. It'll show GM,Ford,Mopar trans pics, measurements and ratios for the popular trans. Summit has alot of other helpfull info too.
