hen it feels like you'll never finish Sometimes it feels like these part time projects go on forever.........and in my case I get feeling that way sometimes, so I pull out a few pictures to show the progress and realize I'm closer to the finish line than the start line.........whew!

First--Thank You to site members for comments on questions I had, appreciated each and every one. If some are not the answer they are still worth consideration--and-- those who read only or have like problems may get help from them too. Been a big help being able to ask questions--Thanks. The 34 is up and running everything appears great at this point. Did a complete re-do of the car winter of 2013. Few problems last summer, thing still ran too warm, and had excessive engine compartment heat, roll up window ... Read All ...

Opinion time. Which would you rather have on a Mustang II front end: coil overs or coil springs? Which rides better? Are coilovers worth the money? Inputs?

I'm curious to see what you akk have been using for rock star protection on the underside of fenders. In my '33 we made up a custom formed inner fender liner that more or less is the same shape as the fenders, but smaller leaving about 3/4" between the guard and the fender for cleaning. The guards are finished in glossy black gravel guard and have prevented even a single rock star in the metal fenders for over 85,000 kms. These are only about 18" long and mount on the rear portion of the fender ... Read All ...

Hi all, I've been cruising every classified listing that I can for a few months looking for a quality truck and haven't found what I'm looking for. Looking for a 40-50's pickup will entertain Chevy but strong preference for Ford. If it's Ford, it must be Ford drivetrain. Coil over suspension, disc brakes, okay with the resto-mod look. Would like heat and A/C, but I can always install that so that isn't a deal breaker. Budgeting $50-70K so I feel my expectations of nice, documented build with good quality i ... Read All ...

love after market parts in the past i always got flamed for complaining about vendors . usually by some trolling lurker . well it is getting really bad out there. some of the top vendors are selling stuff they know damn well will not fit . i went to install the headlights on the 56 210 today. first the sub bucket slots were to small to fit the adjusters. got out the files and reworked them so they would fit. then went to install the new clips for the headlight doors. there is a reason gm used the long slender clips. the fat generi ... I've been looking to buy a moderately priced set of gauges for my Essex project. I've recently run across an ad for the new "Shark" gauges from Dolphin Instruments. I would like the 6 gauge set including the Tach. Are there any users of these that can give me a rating on them ? Thanks, Sach

I have the dash completely out of the El Camino and the Grand Prix sitting on the bench... keep running back and forth tagging wires and marking stuff...naturally there are a couple of wires in one that's not in the other. Does anyone know where I can get a wiring schematic for a 1985 Pontiac Grand Prix/Bonneville? I've looked everywhere.. I can find schematics online but they are so damned small I can't read them...HELP!!

Guys I have a Mustang II front end and a 9 inch ford rear end with Disc Brakes all around. It occurs to me that I need backing plates or dust shields behind the disc. Currently there are none. This exposes the back of the disc and seems the front hoses want to rub in a turn. The question is for what Mustang years am I looking for backing plates for the front and I assume backing plates a 9 inch Ford with disc brakes will work if the disc size matches. Am I right? Where is a good place to buy these? Thank ... Read All ...

Nice sunny day probably 70. I go out for a spin and while at the stop light I notice the temp start to go down from 180. It stops at 140 then as I start moving it goes back to 180. The same thing happened again at another stop. Normally it just stays at 180 no matter what. Can anyone come up with why this is happening? I started out with the radiator and overflow tank full. I only went out for about an hour down city streets Glenn
