Anyone know for sure how much upholstery to order to do a '32 Ford 3 window coupe interior? Talking seat, headliner, door panels, kick panels, rear panel behind seat, and trunk panels. If you do it in leather, how many hides and what is allowance for waste?

ew toy After years of visiting this site owning nothing older than my 58 Impala, I have become a double streetrodder in the span of less than a year. Last October I traded my 71 pickup on the 39 Chevy two door sedan that I posted about earlier. . I have always liked the 40 Ford coupes and a nice one became available in the area. A good friend of mine was familiar with the entire project and did all the mechanical portion of the build. He took me to see it and voila , it now lives at my house. It needs some min ... I know this has been discussed before but I could not find what I was looking for in the search box. I am currently insured with Grundy (Philadelphia Ins Co) and after reading the first few pages of my new policy I can no longer drive the car other than to and from Club functions. If I go with Hagerty they allow up to 3000 miles per year for leisure driving. Any suggestions out there. The price difference between Grundy and Hagerty is about $100 bucks for the option to drive up 3000 miles. I think I know th ... Read All ...

I am finally starting to build my garage and now have the opportunity to install hydronic heating in the floor slab. I will be installing 2" rigid foam under the slab (6") anyway. Anyone have any experience with this? I have a separate zone off my gas fired boiler to do this. The new garage is adjacent to the house.

help! I've got a older street rod with a sbc, edelbrock 650cfm carb. the fuel pump, on the side of the block, is the old mechanical type. simple fuel tank, one line to fuel pump and one small vent tube on opposite top side of tank. fuel pump only has a inlet and outlet port. question is what constitutes having a return line to the tank? old style rods never had a return line. your thoughts please. thanks harv33

ew '32 Replacement I had found this '32 before I traded my Roadster for the Ol Beater that Don (Da34guy) purchased from me a month or so ago.......This car was sold and was supposed to go to Australia, but gov. rules, fees and regulations caused to deal to fall through....owner contacted me last weekend and we struck a deal.....brought it home yesterday from Joplin, Mo.........sure like it.....needs fenders, hood and grill shell painted....interior and I also bought it less engine/trans, because I have a new 350 with Demon 3x ... I came across chrome Sanden style A/C compressor for $120 on ebay. The place also has other parts for very reasonable prices. A new chrome drop axle for $269. Do you think the old saying too good to be true comes into play here? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sanden-style-508-12V-a-c-Compressor-Chrome-V-Belt-GM-Chevrolet-Ford-Universal-/261364660790

Has anyone tried Pinnacle wax? a bit pricey @ $95 a can. I've seen a wax go for $1500 a can --can you believe that!! Pinnacle is suppose to be double refined carnauba wax. I use Mequirs and Mothers products @ $15/20 per can. Let's see what everyone uses. raf

Ever think about these small car shows where they hand out awards at about 3:00 PM or so-After you set there all day. Then you realize the winners are not exactly for the best cars but for the best buddies. I have seen some really nice cars at some of these shows and they are not even mentioned while some of the guys with pieces of $&%! are bragging about the win. Cruise nights are the real way to go and the public responses are the best Trophy"s. Have a bite to eat and have some fun where it reall

Boy, do I ever have an angel on my shoulder. Today Alfred (helper) and I decided to test drive a '52 Chevy truck. The customer had complained that it "ran out of gas" after running awhile. We had checked out the fuel system and did a compression test, so it was time to check it out on the road. -As I was driving down Greenhorn, almost to Brunswick, yakking to Al and not paying too much attention ,I stepped on the brakes and they almost hit the floor. They had been fine coming down my very steep ... Read All ...
