Losing your Center Caps?

| A great new SR member Jerry told me about his tried and true solution for keeping your center caps on your 5 spoke aluminum wheels. It seems the center caps come with aluminum screws and an aluminum allen head wrench. Not a real problem but he and others have had trouble with the darn things backing off. Quite an expensive loss if the center cap takes off into the ditch. Well Jerry said that his local hardware store (Ace Hardware in Aurora) carries identical stainless steel replacements. We are talking the same thread and everything. I would take it a step further and suggest you check with Totally Stainless if there are no hardware stores in your area with this solution. Anyway, you need to put a bit of anti-seize on the threads and you are good to go. Jerry claims that he never had a problem again and you cannot tell the difference.
