Using the Search Engine
January 27, 2007 By
- On the HOME PAGE, locate the set of 9 tabs that run horizontally across the top of the page just below the StreetRodding.com logo. Find the tab labeled “Advanced Search” to your far right. Place your mouse pointer on the tab and left click it.
- This action will bring you to the “Advanced Search Engine” page. You will be asked “What do you want to find?” and will see two white rectangles to the right of the question. The button on the right side of the first rectangle is a “drop down” menu. Place your mouse pointer on the “down arrow” and left click the mouse. A menu of possible search types will drop down. If your search can be done using one of these categories, click on the category that best describes your interest, move the pointer to the right, locating the “Search!” button and the search will begin. If none of the categories describe what you want to look for, move to the white rectangle to the right, left click in the rectangle, and type in a very brief description of your search topic. Then, place your mouse on the “Search!” button and click it – the search will begin.
- Pressing the “Search!” button will begin the search and move you to the page where those subjects have been congregated for you. Look over the search elements to see if you have a “hit”. If so, O.K.; if not, hit your “back” arrow at the top left screen. It will take you back to the previous page where you can enter a different descriptor or choose a different menu category and try again.
- That’s How It’s Done!! Happy Searching
