AMERICRUISE EAST SWAPS DATES
Americruise East August 15-17th
Local Charity Event benefits from date switch
This year, many anniversaries are being celebrated throughout the automotive world and many of these milestones are important benchmarks in automotive history. This summer, the AMERICRUISE tour moved to the east coast for the very first time and the ?erfect?weekend for this great event fell right on top of an important charitable event in Pennsylvania. Because this event has contributed some much to the area and has provided a real recognition of the automotive hobby, the AMERICRUISE EAST dates will move to the August 15th weekend. August 10th Vintage Air will lead the tour from San Antonio, TX to Bloomsburg, PA. Don? be left behind, tighten up your nuts and bolts, top off all the fluids, tune up your ride and get ready to join the R&C 50TH Anniversary Roadster, The SO-CAL Roadster and the McMullen Roadster on a fun-filled 1,800-mile trek across the Eastern U.S.! You built your rod to drive so hop in, buckle up and join us at Americruise!
The Wheels of Time Street Rod Association will be celebrating their 25th Annual Rod & Custom Jamboree August 22 through the 24. What is important about this event is the impact that it has on the Allentown, PA region. Last year over $50,000 was donated to local charitable organizations. The Allentown Rescue Mission, Good Shepherd Home and Rehabilitation Hospital, Camelot House, Bethany Children? Home, ARC, Boys and Girls Club of Allentown, received the proceeds from this event. In addition, the Wheels of Time Street Rod Association maintain a $15,000 Scholarship program to help local young people purse a career in the automotive industry.
The 25th Annual Rod & Custom Jamboree is held at Macungie Memorial Park just outside Allentown, PA and gates open all three days at 8:00 am. This event features on Auction on Saturday with all proceeds going to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, valve cover racing, games, bingo and lots of great music. This year, drag racing legend and former Funny Car Champion Bruce Larson will be honored as the special guest.
The only downside is that the Macungie Show has a waiting list, however, Club President Ron Grow and Show Chairman Al Breen are excited about the opportunity that these two events can bring to the state of Pennsylvania. The Wheels of Time Street Rod Association has agreed to provide everyone a great time at their event and they are looking forward to supporting the AMERICRUISE EAST event as well.
