ragtop driving ?
Getting ready for trip to Indy. Will have top down sometime over the weekend(weather permitting). Wife has strange concept of driving with the top down and the windows up.(doesn't want to mess hair up) told her no way--top down/windows down. How about

valve seals
I am replacing valve seals on sbc. Second one in last 6 months. can anyone tell me why someone only puts them on the intake valves only. Found 4 umbrella seals on just the intakes and orings on the exhaust. I know the intake would tend to suck the oil

CE rear suspension
Has anyone installed Chassis Engineering rear suspension in a 46-48 Chevy convertible? Was wondering what modifications have to be made to install the setup. I think it is all in the shock bar placement. does it make a difference if the shocks are moun

Senility???
Must be old age setting in. Thought I had front end all redone and tight when lo and behold I look up and see the lower control arm bushings are bad. So I go to replace them and the caliper mounting brackets are loose. Take the bolts out--they are OK--

pcv vs. oil consumption
How much oil consumption--blue smoke should come out the tailpipe if the valve cover does not have a baffle where the pcv is placed.seems to me it would suck a little out of the cover through the intake and burn it out the tailpipe. Thanks.

leaf springs
need a crash course on adding a leaf or 2 to the rear springs on my ragtop(47 Chevy) original springs. Where would be the best spot to put the spring. It has 7 leaves in it now and was thinking 1 maybe 2 would help in getting the rear end up a hair. An

Battery ground

leak proof?
Made a portable umbrella for the ragtop today. PO swore it hardly leaked at all. Well it does--I slowed it down to a waterfall but need some protection for outside overnight parking. Not a bad color comination.. Such fun. Headed to Bunny Run in Jacks

Interior material
I am needing a source for some material for my car. Seems to be around 1988 Ford, possibly, TRITON pattern in gray. Upholstery shop says it is no longer available. Need enough to cover 2 bucket seats. Any leads out there would help. thanks

On the ground
Car is finally on the ground. Off to alignment shop on Friday, upholstery shop to get buttons for the boot--all in the rain. guess I will find out how much it leaks. Hope this is all worth it. thanks for all your help---but it ain't done yet.

Got the ragtop going this morning. so far so good. The p/s is a little jerky--not smooth turning form lock to lock. Seems better as rpm increase. it is a rebuilt unit 0 miles. belt is tight--fluid OK--reason for changing out was leak and no seals readi

Getting close to putting my ???? on the road and am in need of some sunvisors. Gm convertibles are a liitle different as they use two mounting points. very expensive for repops--anyone have any experience on using diferent styles in the 46-48 Chevies or

A/C is in and dash is done
Finally making some headway--got the dash finished except for a couple of knobs--A/C, heat defrost is in and hopfully working--will test this weekend. Thanks for the help.

compressor mounting
Installing a/c compressor and was wondering if the fill plug and fittings should always be in the upright position. running into a litle problem with hose routing and was curious if it could be at a different angle. I am going to get the 135 degree fit
