Beware of exhaust fumes
I have a good friend that lost her husband a few years ago but she still enjoys taking out their car and spending time with old friends at shows or rod runs. I've helped her several times by keeping her car maintained and road ready but never really took

Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas
First day of B-J wasn't too good a day for sellers. The attendance seemed light and the prices seemed very low to me. Wish I was there. A really nice and uniquely equipped GTO did $28k, a 55 Bel Air Hdtop sold for $25k, and an older 37 Slantback sold for

On the hunt again...
I got the itch again. This time I want a 55-56 Bel Air hardtop. I'm going to list my '37 but in the meantime if I ran across a nice one I might move sooner. If someone knows of a good buy on a nice car, let me know. Want something rodded, not stock.

Pro Tour??
I see in a lot of ads that sellers claim their car to be "Pro Tour". I hate to sound dumb but what that heck is Pro Tour exactly?? I know what Pro Street is but I see this description quite often and it's very vague to me what this means. Any 'Pro Tour' g

Steering rack bushings
Need some advice. I'm trying to replace the bushings in my steering rack without taking the rack out of the car. I'm having trouble getting them out. They've got a metal sleeve in the bushing and I don't know which direction I should be going to beat them

Color and paint simulator
My son in law is really struggling with colors for his newest creation and I seem to remember one of the paint manufacturers that had a really neat software program that you could buy that allowed the user to play with different color combinations, two-to

Vandalism
Yesterday some dirt bags broke into a house that I've got and tore it up big time. Spray painted everything, dumped cans of paint on all the appliances, broke 2 toilets valves and flooded the place. What's worse is that I've got it sold and is supposed to

RB Obsolete Parts obsolete??
Just heard today at a car show that RB Obsolete is no more? Too bad...on the surface they seemed like a big, successful company. Maybe too big?

Gas prices in the middle east:Iran .40Saudi Arabia .45Libia .50Bahrain .81Egypt .89Kuwait .90Hard to believe it's almost $5 a gallon here. Do you suppose this is just one more way of attacking the Western civilized world? By the way, did you know that mor

Price of car shows going up?
Like many of you, I've been going to car shows for years now and I've expected the price of registrations to go up like everything else, but this year it seems crazy. I'm usually not one to complain, I don't mind paying for my fun and entertainment but $1

Bonneville Salt Flats
I've been thinking about going to Bonneville this year. Has anyone gone? I don't get much time off so I want to do one of the best automotive outtings I can for what little time off I get. It might be a welcome change to just going to a car show somewhere

Club member or lone wolf??
Curious how many are active club members? I did the club thing for several years but got burned out with it. I still have a lot of friends from the club but it started becoming too structured and political for my liking.

Where are the Old Car bone yards?
We need a couple of decent rear fenders for a '37 Ford project and I'm not having much luck. I know there are a lot of bone yards accross the country that specialize in old iron but don't know where to look. Google search hasn't come up with much. Any sug

How many hot rod summers do you have left??
At a recent show a friend asked a bunch of guys how many hot rod summers we had left...it got me thinking. Okay, most of us are in our late 40s and early 50s, many in the low 60s, but not too many much over 70. Much after 70 and the ole body starts to giv

Leaky intake bolts
Whats the best sealer to use to seal intake bolts from leaking oil? It's a sbc with an aftermarket chromed intake manifold (probably from China) and the 2 center bolts on both sides leak, creating little puddles of oil in the manifold that cook from the e

New car on the way
Well, I just couldn't stand it anymore... I bought a new streetrod today. I didn't make it very long, I planned to take my time and not buy anything right away but I just couldn't help myself. I guess this car thing is a sickness. It's on a transport truc

Wet toy
Okay so I'm without a hot rod for the moment....but I'm not without a new toy. My second love is boats and I just picked up this vintage 22' Donzi Classic. This little boat loves choppy water and runs pretty strong with a 454 and Bravo I outdrive. For tho

It's only been a week since the car is gone and I'm already going through withdrawals. I go out into the garage and stare at an empty stall....my wife tells her friends that I wander aimlessly through the house with an empty look on my face....I check the

Looks like I'm walking for awhile
Well I sold the 37 coupe a couple of days ago. I'm glad I sold it but for some reason I feel worse about it everyday. I'm going to miss that little car and all the attention it got. It was a lot of fun. I don't think I'll ever start from scratch again bu
