| Something new with dropped axle front ends---
Here's a new one on me---I haven't seen that done before, and I've seen a lot!!! This is the trap that a lot of people fall into when they add a dropped axle into a stock front end set up. The damn tie rod wants to run right thru the side of the wishbone. |

| Well of course you knew what a crush tube was! Didn't you???
Since somebody asked---If you have to bolt through a peice of rectangular tubing to attach a bracket, etcetera to it, as you tighten up the bolt, the wall of the rectangular tube will begin to collapse. You want to tighten the bolt good, but not wreck the |

| How to put a Chev V8 into any car---

My apologies to all the Ford and Chryco guys out there. I am a Chevy guy, so I am writing about Chevy engines---Not because they are better, but because thats what I have experience with. The easy way is to find somebody else that has the same car/engine |

| A mini rant about the metric system---from Canada
Ah, yes--the good old metric system!!! When I started in engineering in 1965 everything was British Imperial---Feet, inches, and pounds. I worked along, quite happily, measuring everything in sixteenths, thirty seconds, and thousanthths of an inch. Then i |

I am planning on some winter upgrades to the Wild Canary. The main one will be a cosmetic upgrade to the headlight bar. The current one is a Henry original, from the Barrie hotrod fleamarket. It sets level, but one end has more bend in it than the other, |

| Back from 600 mile cruise--
I just got back from a marathon 600 mile run with the "Wild Canary". I have a friend who lives up near Perth, Ontario, about 1 hour from our nations capital, in Ottawa. I finished up a small design job on Wednesday, and since I didn't anticipate any more |

| Old Ford/New Ford--76 years difference---

Wifey sent me out for catfood and water softner salt this morning, and when I got home I parked in the driveway instead of in the garage. As I walked into the house, it struck me that this was a good photo op. You all know the "Wild Canary", my 31 Ford Ho |

| Wild Canary down---Crappy aftermarket parts---

Last week I was at the local Saturday night "cruise-night/car show", and about half way thru the evening, the rodder next to me pointed out a big greenish puddle under the Canary, and said "Hey--Is that out of your car?". I got down and crawled around---n |

We just arrived home last night from our vacation in the U.S.A.. Had a really great time. We travelled thru the "gold rush country" between Reno Nevada and Sacramento in California, and seen some working and restored gold mining operations (really neat ol |

| Ron Francis Taillights Question - CORRECTED

When I was building the roadster pickup, I used a set of Ron Francis repop 51 Pontiac tail lights. The lenses and chrome housings are quality stuff, but the bulb sockets that come with them really suck, big time. The contacts that are in the housings have |

| Wanted 1928 or 1929 model A ford rear bumper

Every time I stop with the roadster pickup, the traffic behind me looks like it is preparing to mount the back of my truck!!! This is kinda disconcerting, to say the least. If anybody out there has a complete 1928-1929 model A rear bumper, with good chro |

I drive my hotrod. Being as I live up here in the frozen a$$ed North, I have to pack 12 months worth of driving into about 6 months. I go to a lot of summer rod runs and "show and shines", and one thing I've noticed---It doesn't matter how clean, shiny, a |

Rodders may find this of interest. Back in the day, about 1965 (I was 19) I had a burning desire to build a hotrod. I had no money, no garage, no tools, and damn little money. But Hey!!! That never stopped us, did it. I picked up someone elses semi comple |

| What does the junction block end of flexible brakeline bolt to on S10 rearend?

Yeah, I know, kind of a dumb question, but there is a flange around the rearend cover that sort of precludes using one of the cover bolts. I picked up a new flex line this morning to run from the frame crossmember down to the rearend, and there doesn't se |
