My bride probably will never throw me out. She know when she has it good. [She's that great combination of brains and beauty--heh,heh]. I've been on the road for three weeks. Back home tonight.
Cyclone up north flattened one town. 100% of banana and sugar cane crops wiped out. Not good. They're tough people, they'll work through it. Of course our neighbours are quick to help like we help them. Not!
Just got back from a Saturday morning roadster drive. Nice temp. Luckily it's roadster weather all year. No major cities get snow. Gotta be in the alpine areas for that. Mind you, way down south is damned cold in winter - to me!
Winter is on it's way - football season is in full swing!

had a chance to visit your beautiful country in 2001. enjoyed our trip tremendously, beautiful scenery and nice clean cities. spent several days in sidney,a day in cairns where we visired the great barrier reef.caught an AUSSIE rules football game in melbourne and also took the tram dinner tour of the city. saw a rodrun while traveling on the tour bus one day, but had no idea american rods were that popular in your country. anyhow all the best to those affected by the bad weather.
Thanks for the interest, although it's a pretty old post (06). Weather in general is as it has been for the past several years - drought in most of the coutnry, except the tropical north. Rivers dry, dead cattle, can't plant grain etc. In some places there are kids starting school who have never seen rain in their lives. Not pretty.
Ford biult it's first plant here back in the Model T days, the rest is history!
I hear work's coming along well on the new Camaro too.

It depends where you live in this great land downunder. The coastal strips and tropical north are getting inundated with rain but not in the catchment areas for the reservoirs and the interior regions don't know what rain is. I can't find the word in my dictionary anymore. Australia is in the grip of one of its worst ever droughts. They're saying that irrigators will have a zero water allocation next season unless we get rain & plenty of it with the price of produce expected to rise by 500%. It's almost to the point of water being used for personal use only. We are a hardy bunch & we will survive.
This is true, you Aussie's are a great bunch of survivors. We will keep you in our thoughts. I keep seeing a commercial about taking the salt out of sea water, any chance that would help the crops or is that just a marketing thing?

As usual, the costal cities idea of water shortage and the reality of the (not very far) inland realitty are two different things. But, a water desalination plant is being built in Sydney. There's also a lot of talk about water recycling, but most folks don't like the sound of that. In places like Singapore, most of their water is recycled and no one cares less. Best not to know I suppose. It's actually raing here today, but not where it's needed of course.
Thanks for your thoughts.
