wonderful here. no rain. winds blowing like a tuckered out hefer, surounded by idiots from town , and our place is smack in the middle of 5 acres of post oaks. i tell ya i may go to jail if one more ranchette rancher sets a burn pile off . these guys dont have a clue how fast a burn pile can get loose or how fast it will travel. price of beef will be up since we've lost around 30k head of cattle in the pan handle.
dont poke the porchdog........he bites

BLUFF DALE, Texas
Glad to hear most all are OK. Heard a long range forecast and it looks like this year will be even worse than last year for storms. Everybody stay safe out there.
I'm back folks and with a few pictures. We got hit by 2- F2 tornadoes Sunday night and the entire town lost power when the powerplant took some direct damage. 50% of the town was restored the next day but due to loss of powerlines I Just got my power back this afternoon, so I am playing catchup. I now feel for all you guys who live in tornado alley, we haven't had a direct hit in over 40 years, right through the town. Took the roof off one of the Wal-Marts, kept the folks from the Sunday night movie in the theater for 10 hours waiting for powerlines to be removed. I will be glad when things get back to normal.

Son's week old truck got hail damage in KC. No major damage for me. Just some trees down. Still have not heard about the new house, hopefully it survived
Alot of wind in the Detroit area and rain. Some flooding of rivers north of Detroit. Was 70 degrees yesterday. Now snow predicted in the next few days any where from an inch to five inches. Hope it misses us and goes to the ski resorts up north where they want it and helps their economy.
Got hammered with hail Sunday but the triple tarps saved the chevyII. Got enough moisture now that those mushrooms will start a popping Kansas City Missouri area
I sure hope Texas gets some rain, without the added lightning. Maybe those of us in the wetter states need to pump some water down there. Illinois was concerned about our rain totals being down but we are expecting some more rain to come in the next 7 days. Not good news for those who lost their roofs. If you know any roofers who are looking for work tell them to call the Red Cross. All the area roofers are booked solid. Of course the tree trimmers are too. However, most of these guys are giving cut rates and some are even doing it for free for the elderly and folks without insurance. Nice to see it. Gives you faith in humanity.

Well I spoke too soon I guess since the cable went out-and with it my cable phone, internet and entertainment. I take alot for granted and will be making some changes to make sure if we have this problem again we are better prepared. Hey Nick, I didn't know your Dad called on Mathews place. What exactly does he do?

We took the Track Car for a drive today down to Galveston (Spring Break...get it!?), ran down the Seawall, took the ferry to Bolivar and east toward Winnie, Port Arthur. Saw evidence of several recent grassfires, then came up on several fires in progress across the fields. Brisk winds weren't helping anyone either. After returning to I10 to head back to Houston saw numbers of smoke columns toward the Gulf indicating a number of other fires started up. The statewide burn ban is still in effect and it will be for the foreseeable future. Like a tinderbox around and worse up in the Central Texas area north to OK..
We were in St Louis on Sat night and watched as the tornados and heavy storms slipped south. Coming home ( thats up river) we sat for an hour and a half waiting for the storms to move east to visit Tammy. Everything was fine at home but damage all around. Luckily just property no people. Is Texas still burning?
I honestly had no idea there was any storms or tornadoes anywhere near here until i saw a car on the roof of a house on the news yesterday. My dad went to Springfield for his sales route and had to turn around and come home. He said Mathews Auto Body was gone.
