Is it possible that a torque converter would cause a vibration? I can feel it in park while I rev the engine, it gets more pronounced at lower speeds/rpms rather than at higher speeds.

Any thoughts? If it is possible should I replace it with a new stock unit or upgrade to a performance unit. Who has the best deal. I don't race, it is built for cruising.

Converter could cause vibration if the balance weights were banged and possibly came off. More likely to be in the flex plate or harmonic balancer. If the engine is near stock there is no real need for an aftermarket converter especially those that have a higher than stock stall. They create more heat which is not good for transmission life.Might be a good time to get a gearhead friend to look/listen, could be numerous things, none of them good if you ignore the problem. Good Luck.

If you have just put the car together, or installed a new trans it could be this because it happened to me once ( makes me feel embarrassed !! ) anyway if you didn't put the flexplate on the torque converter correctly, and by this I mean if you happened to put the flexplate on over a small torque converter drain plug, and missed a hole in the flex plate ( it will have 2, or 3 square head drain plugs on the front of the converter ) the flexplate will tighten at a warp angle, and when you start the car it will sound like a bad starter hanging up, the whole car will vibrate, and if you rev the engine it will usually eat the starter gear up. If you have a flywheel cover on the bottom of your trans take it off, start the car, and look underneath at the flexplate with the car AT AN IDLE ONLY. If it is on one of those bolts you will see a very crooked flexplate. To correct this just loosen the flexplate, and turn it until you see all of the drain bolts in the proper holes, and re-tighten the flexplate up. Usually this does not hurt, or bend the flexplate, but it will eat starters up very quickly, so don't rev the engine if this is the case, just let it IDLE.
