Damn, I take the evening off, sit around thinking about Springfield and eating q'd brisket and pork and I missed it again. Even thinking about going on a diet in January 08 so I can pig out on lots of that Texas style bbq and then find it's gone. What happen to the "let's be civil" thread? Did some one after me thow in a no-no comment? Or, did it just exceed the word police's limits for the number of words in a single thread?? Huh?
So, it looks like this new thread is moving towards FoodTV. Think I'm getting hungry. Guess I better take a break and go get me a belchamatic big dog with the works. Wonder if this thread will be here when I return?
There's a place here that been around sice The War called Harry's Cafe De Wheels. It's a trailer. They serve a "Dog De Wheels" which includes the dog, chilli con carne, mashed potato, mushy peas, fried onions, cheese sauce and chilli sauce. As you can imagine, they're pretty big and excellent around 2:00am. My brother ate 4 one night (ugh!).
Back yet Orphans?

Yeah Tony I'm back. No big dog today, had to settle for a regular. Harry's sounds delightful. Here in Baltimore, a dog with the works includes a nice plump polish dog, with mustard and relish topped off with chilli with cheese and onions on the top. Good eating but not too often..... stays with you for hours, maybe days. Usually requires at least one antiacid, more than two might require surgery. Don't think I could ever do 4 like your brother. I'd have to be damn hungry, maybe starving. ;-)
Quick story about White Castle. Many years ago when I was a puppy, my Uncle Slivers, who drank quite a bit, Backed his 55 Cadillac into my dads drive way on my birthday and opened the trunk> It was full of White Castle hamburgers. Boy did me and all the neighborhood kids have a ball. Years later, my dad told me Uncle Slivers had pulled into the local White castle and told them to fill it up and laid down $100. This was when sliders were 14 cents a piece.
When you've been hard at it at the pub til then, you can work up that kind of appetite. Of course I'm retired from that kind of behaviour these days. I hope. I have been to Harry's in daylight hours and it's still good. Being Australia, their very best thing is the meat pies. Iehave 'em with mashed potato, mushy peas and gravy. Mmmmmmmmm. Then again, the dogs are good... damn, now I want one!

Shine, I'm sure they are, it's just not what gets thrown on BBQ's round here. Beef, pork, lamb, seafood, and sausages are all fair game. Burgers are basically burger shop things, either old school or chain. Although, there is a meat pattie thing called a rissole that's got more stuff in it than a burger pattie and it's an indoor cooking job, eaten on a plate with a knife and fork along with usual vegies, gravy etc.
