Al and Eric, Just watched the polishing video. Looked great, was informative, and I'll definetely consider the vendor when I get to the point of needing polishes... However, it took over 1 hour and 20 minutes to watch a 3:22 video on a 48K dialup. I'm way out in the boonies and don't have access to a high speed connection. Qwest( formerly known as US Worst) says 2-5 yrs yet for DSL in my area. The cable company laughed at me.... You get the idea.. As a suggestion, rather than stream the videos, set up a page for them with links, so we can pick and choose which videos we want to see.

Eriq, Thanks for the quick response, and the tip about Verizon. I used to have one of their cell phones, then lost my job. Needless to say it will be a while before they let me subscribe to anything.. Besides, My little home network is dialed up 24/7.... I don't even want to think about cell charges for that... Eventually the local phone system will upgrade our service. with a little luck, I might still have some hair left when that happens....then again.......... Oh, what about adding smilies to the forum?? That way we can be both silly and/or sarcastic if needed.. I'm also still waiting for a" kill" button for the auto email replies. I check the board often enough, and I would prefer not to fill up my "in" box.

Thanks again for the reply and a great site.

this is the very beginning of our new video service to gauge reactions. in the future we will offer different videos for different connections and your preferences and dialup speeds will be recorded so future videos will be delivered based on your previous selections.

as a side, you should look into verizon's new EV-DO service. it's works on the companie's cell network and offers near DSL speeds.

reneg8d, I had dial up for years, except mine was about 28k. Finally a cable provider came to my rescue. DSL isn't here and they have no clue when they ever will be. For awhile it looked like my only choice was going to be satellite transmissions thru Directv (Directway). Very fast download, 56k upload. Two ways to get it, neither are real cheap, but for many people it is the only alternative to dial up.

DSL doesn't work much further than10'000 feet from the telephone companies central office. That's one of the reasons they say in their ads ,not available in all areas.......Al C

Just reviewed the polishing video. It was great, but do we send our wheels to him or does he come to us?
