Powder coated the intake on my old 33 [400 sbc] and was very happy with the results. Sealed up fine and was a breeze to clean. Make sure you cover/plug any holes to the threads and sensors don't get all futzed up.

I used PPG DP90 primer/sealer and put about 6 coats on the intake then painted it with basc coat/clear coat. The primer/sealer smoothed out the cast and the color matched the engine/body. Very easy to clean and not effected by gas. (cheap too...already had the paint)

Intakes look FANTASTIC powder coated! Coating is not adversely affected by harsh fluids, lasts longer and is more durable than paint, resists rust (not a big problem with aluminum though), and will hold up well against accidental interactions with your impact wrench where paint won't. Aluminum does require more steps prep-wise though, so be sure your coater is experienced working with aluminum before enlisting their services.

Check out some of the samples on my website if you don't already have a coater. I ship nationwide, take extreme pride in my work, and have more reasonable prices than the competition. (I'm a hurricane Katrina victim trying to make a living in a new place and could truly use the business.) Free quotes of course.

When you call or write, be sure to mention you saw this post on StreetRodding.com for a discount!!!

Coupe32, you're very close. I did that SBC Holley Strip Dominator with the hidden nitrous setup in "Reflective Chrome." I have over 6,500 colors and a huge variety of textures and finishes to choose from. Please check out my website link up there by my first post (click on "Additional Links" and then click "Color Samples") to see a few hundred of them.

You look like a fun bunch ... I'm glad to be here!!!!
