Anybody know what the wheelbase is supposed to be on a 37 Plymouth coupe? Did they have several differant ones like they did in earlier years?

Thanks, Jim

Thanks for the link to the spec page, lots of good info there. As for my dilema, I have to trust in where the wheels look right in the wheelwells. I'm thinking this car may be a Dodge with a Plymouth title. Would explain the longer wheelbase. Thanks for your help.

Jim

Careful, some of the stats on Carnut.com are incorrect. I have a 1934 Plymouth PE which has a 114 inch wheel base. Other models of the '34 had 108 wheel bases. I had to send corrections to Carnut to update their stats on the '34. Likely that there are different wheel bases for different models of the 37 as well. I'll check some references and get back to you.

Thanks for checking. It's a customers car and he removed the tag from the firewall for the build, now he's on vacation. I measured the wheelbase before pulling all the stock suspension off and it measured 116-1/2". Wheels fit in wheel wells OK but just wanted to be sure before welding it all up.

Thanks, Jim

I have a '37 Dodge coupe in my shop. I'll measure the wheel base in the morning and reply tommorow. I also have a manual with every model they produced. I can check yours if you can find the model tag on our firewall.

I was right and wrong. According to reference info that I have: the 1937 P3 series had a wheelbase of 112.0 inches. The P4 Deluxe series was also 112.o but there was LWB (long wheel base) model with 132.0 inch. The lwb was only used in the limo model. Wouldn't it be great to own one of those!

All Dodges in 1937 had 115.0 inch wheel bases, with the exception of the limo's again at 132.0
