This is what it looked like in 1992, anybody remember this?

That was Troy Trepaniers Buick

I think it was 9 inches of rain in 1 hour.

Man I couldn't believe these pictures. I can only feel for the guys that had cars there. I would have been sick to come out and see my car sitting in that much water. Wow what a mess! I never saw these pics before. What a way to ruin a summer.

Somewhere I have pictures of cars with water up over the belt line, one car in particular had water up over the belt line with a mullins trailer behind that was floating, pretty bazarr.

That year at the Boyd Booth the water came so fast that they used brand new Boyd Wheels and stacked them up and then lifted the Alumi-Coupe on top of them to keep it out of the water. It was quite a sight.

I remember them stacking the Boyd wheels up and lifting the car.

The reason there aren't a lot of pictures of this is the NSRA made the magazines play it down, I only saw a few pictures in the mags and none like the ones I took.

Story was the coolers and chairs started floating and blocked all the drains

My car was high up enough but the water was getting closer and closer, then it stopped raining.

There is a building on the site of the flood now, so I guess there is no more "low" spot

Yes I remember it well.... fortunately I didn't drive that year... many nice cars had water in the cylinders and interior.... everyone was looking for haulers to get their cars home...

The 92 flood was because the drains got clogged up. The 05 storm was scarier because of the lightning and high winds. There probably was more total damage in 92, but 05 caused a large amount of sheet metal damage. It was pretty scary to see 55 gallon drums of water being slung around and tents flying through the air.
