I have a Bop Top on my 32 roadster , and am looking for side curtains. Bop Top makes one but they don't open with the door. Don't want to roll the curtains up and tie to get in or out of the car. Any one know were to get or how to make?

50s and early 60s MGs (As and Midgets), Austin-Healeys (3000s and Sprites) and Triumphs (TR3s, 3Bs, 4s) had side curtains which were plexi-glass aluminum framed to allow sliding back the forward half of the window for paying tolls, getting burgers, etc. They had a flap style weatherseal around the top edges and a heavier flap which dropped out over the door to seal to the body. They mounted to the door with heavy aluminum or steel brackets of strap, forward one with a hole in the end, rear one with slot in the end. The doors had a threaded studs sticking out, the curtain brackets slid on to the studs and were secured by knurled round knobs.

They actually did a pretty fair job of keeping the wind and water at bay and looked pretty good too. WIth so much aluminum window stuff around you could probably make up something and sell them if they work out well. A simple sheet of plexi cut to fit nicely when the door is closed with brackets bolted to it and a vinyl sewn flap with perhaps velcro as a closure seal in combination with the door mounts shouldn't be too hard to fab up and solve your problem.

I made a set of roll up for my last roadster that snapped onto wing wind deflectors that I also made. My wife would put hers on and I would usually leave mine off. The wind would not come in because of the "air lock" and niether did the rain except for 5 MPH in a wet parking lot in a turn. Friend build some from pexiglas with rods that just went into receiver holes in the top of the door. They worked but storage and tolls were a bit of a hassle.

Sorry, Joe I sold the car years ago. Let me give you a quick rundown and you should be able to engineer something from there. I used the Speedway stainless one piece windshield stantions and a Carson style top. First I cut and bent Lexan for wind wings which I bolter to the stantions. I then connected snaps to the wings (about two, can't remember) and one snap on the cowl just below the stantions and forward of the door. I connected several snaps to the inside of the top over the door and one more on the top just in the place where it connected in back of the door opening. Then I went to a shop and had clear material made for the opening and he also inserted the snaps in the material. I used a towel to roll them up and stuffed them under the seat when not in use. Cost of the entire project was under $50. Leave a little flap to go over the outside of the door but make sure it is pulled tight so it doen't flap on the paint. Of course the top is snapped inside the top. The wind wings provided tension to the window because of the way it was bent. I could unsnap the cowl and the back and get out easy. Just let it flap from the top. Worked so well that in a rain storm I would leave my side off and no rain came in at speed due to the wing and an air lock. Let me know if I can help more.
