I have a late 50's vintage 283 in my Roadster. It has a spin-on oil filter adapter. The real thin upper o-ring has failed. Anyone know where I canget one? Do I have to buy an original cannister filter in order to get this seal? Can't remember if those cannisters had the seals with them or not.

Beautiful day today......high 70's and as i pulled the car out for a ride, it left a trail out of the garage. Rats!

FYI. Look slike I answered my own post. I went out at lunch and found a canister type filter. The box was in bad shape, but inside was the seal that I need. Paul, thanks for the offer for help. I appreciate it!!!!!

The Ford cannisters had the large gasket included with a new filter. Don't know about GM's but I assume they did Do you have the inner and outer measurements. I have a couple of extra Fords
