Hey guys, My 91 vette hasbose gold cd cass- factory system and its not too hot. The radio signal is amped at the speakers and they are failing one after another- the cd player wont work and recption is very poor.I wouldnt mind replacing the whole dang setup, but the vette nuts tell me too repair it instead. Anybody out there got any books or advice .... any input for me before I spend a fortune on this thing? Nice lo mile car but no tune cruzin sucks!

These guys are right the bose system had problems. You can get an installation kit to go to a standard DIN size cd player or whatever you want, keep the old system for resale and reinstall it then.-Brant

I had a vette with bose stuff. I changed it to a normal radio. It gave me alot more options to pick from. It worked alot better that way for me...

I think stock is better. I'm in the car business and buy a lot of cars and I'd rather buy one with the factory system any day over aftermarket stuff. I've seen cars with $3-8k stereo systems that although they work much better than the Bose, you never recover the investment. It's a little like buying a computer, you never get it back at resale. Most people would rather see the original equipment.

I hate to admit it (I work for a GM dealer) but the GM Bose system sucks...didn't sound that great when new and never held up well, especially in the early years.
