The latest Internet Weather Forcast for Louisville is : Wed 94 & sunny, Thur 91 & sunny, Fri 84 chance of thunderstorms, Sat 89 & sunny, Sun 88 & sunny. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen. That Fairgrounds blacktop will be blistering. Most of the grassy area's are gone and replaced with blacktop. Drive safely getting there.

Todays temp. 96 with a heat index of 105. I remember a few years ago at the Nats a manufacturer of composite streetrod bodies who was set up outside, had to move them out of the Louisville sun as they were melting. It sure would be nice if the Nats were held in October.

Stay safe Brian, no need to kill yourselves. Bring plenty of water and take breaks. All of us need to be careful in this heat.

Hopefully Friday's thunderstorms won't cause as much damage as last year.

In all my years of going to the Louisville Nats, today's registration day was the worst. Temperature in the high nineties with unbelievably high humidity. Being in the sun is unbearable. When the airconditioned exhibit hall opens tomorrow, thats where everyone will be. I plan on visiting the swap meet the first thing in the morning before a meltdown occurs. Supposedly a front is due to arrive late Thursday or Friday with temps then in high eighties.

No its not a joke. It happened about 4-5 years ago at the Nats. I can't remember the companies name but they were touting a new composite body. I believe their company and product have disappeared.

The Nats bad news is Louisville during the Nats is experiencing the hottest weather of the year. 97 today and a heat index of 110.

Does anyone know how much longer the Nat's will be held in Louisville? Or where it will go to next?

They do have a good setup as far as air conditioned vendor area and place to cool down. Just nice to see another town getting the chance to host this great event.

Composite street bodies "melting" in the Louisville sun?? Perhaps we should be made aware of who is offering such wonderful products as these!! Any body which can't stand a little, or a whole lot, of sun, wind, rain, snow or other automible habitat conditions is a joke. That's a joke, isn't it??

OR NOT.

I would also like to see it moved but where else has a venue large enough for it?

Remember something about NSRA signing a 10 year contract. Also heard they had signed up to extend it. Not sure if it is true or not.

Gman, stay cool and have a great time. Getting the swap meet out of the way early on Thursday is great ideal, then you can make for the a/c. We are supposed to get the same relief (today it is 102 with a heat index of 116) by Friday supposedly in the form of a cold wave coming in from Canada. That means thumderstorms and rain. Hope you don't get the flooding. Saturday and Sunday to be in mid 80's (86/87). Can't wait.

According to the NSRA,they feel that leaving the Nats in one spot is a great advantage for both vendors and attendees. They say people can make room reservations earlier and get to know the area better when the event doesn't move around. If you attend year after year it can get kind of boring going to the same place.

NSRA will probably be in Lou'ville until asked to leave. Location not a problem, time of the year is. Much prefier late September or October. Don't mind being hot, just don't like melting.

Wish they would move just a little further north unless they move the date. It certainly is a hot event for those of us who aren't used to the extreme heat....wait what am I saying, the temp is 100+ today in central Illinois! My window thermometer that is in a south window reads 133.4 degrees!

We are leaving Southern Illinois at 4:00am Thursday morning. Don't know why so early, but we are just following the group. Going to let the wife shop for a car and hope she doesn't break the bank. Hope to give you a call Gary. We did bring our walking shoes. We can take the heat just not the rain.
