I am still building my 37 Ford. I have run into a problem that maybe someone here can help me with. I need those "cup" shaped washers that are found on the hinges of my deck lid. I have one. I need 8 of them. I have been to all of the big companies to see if they have any. So far they didn't have any. Now i am sure that others here have run into this problem before?? Where did you find them, or does someone out there have some spares?? Thanks.. Al

I think I know what you mean, but I haven't seen just the washers - they are usually paired with a hex head bolt. The Fastenal folks sell what they call "Body Bolts", that have a bolt with attached washer - the washer is cupped so the outside edges hit first, with the center slightly raised. www.fastenal.com - search for body bolts.

They also sell nuts with washers attached. The catalog calls them washer nuts, but a search for 'washer nuts' on their site doesn't bring back what's in the catalog.

Hope this helps.

Hi, what size do you need? I have a bucket full of 1/2 cup washers that are left over from my Dad's stuff. If they are what you are looking for, you are welcome to them.

Try McMaster-Carr. Look under "Power Transmission", "Mechanical Springs", "Disc Spring". You will find belleville washers listed.

Jim. I contacted CW Moss. Now they may make them, but they don't sell them. I have had no luck with any of the places except for a company that makes them for early Chevrolets.. The cup washers are 3/4" in diameter, and 1/4" deep. The bolt for it is 3/4" long, and 1/4" in diameter.

if worse comes to worse, you can cut a small piece of metal tubing for a spacer between the washer & body.

Your modern answer to the old fashion cup washer is two belleville washers stacked opposite. This is if you need the height to be the same. Look for a Fastenall dealer near you, or look in the phone book for a commerical bolt supplier. If you have access to McMaster Carr or Grainger, they will have them also. If height is not an issue, one belleville will do the job as far as force applied goes.

Mine are 1/2" and more of a cup than a belleview washer but not as dramatic in height as yours but there are hundreds in there. Stack to your hearts delight. Send me an address, I will mail some tomorrow. scooting@flash.net might be an option for you.

I want to Thank all of you for your help. I found the answer to my problem. I found washers at www.iandireproduction.com I first saw them on a 40 Chevrolet. All I have to do is drill out the centers a little, and they will fit just fine. They are there universal washer. Item # CW01 They sell 8 for $10.00, and $8.50 shipping. A little high on both, but they will work.. Thanks again.. Al
