Prayers are going out for you David and for Dixie. I had a scare about 2 months ago with a lump and it does make you feel anxious. However, prayer does work and there will be hundreds going out to you guys and all those facing tests etc. Look at how well prayers helped Al and Shine's sister, and Skeet, and so many others. Remember if there was not time of anxiety you would never really appreciate the peace. Just tell the Devil to take his hands off of you!

I started to bed and was literally drawn to the computer - wonder why?!David and Jim - Boy do I know how you feel. I was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer (yes, I am a guy who played football at the University of Florida - 315 lb. Tackle) in 1994. I had to go through a bunch of stuff but the Great Physician wasnt through with me. I had a radical mastectomy, gallons of chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, 33 radiation treatments and the cancer has been gone for 14 years. Gentlemen, Almighty God is in the miracle business - today. Get mad at the cancer and tell your heart to tell your head to tell your body to fight it with all that you have. Give up and you loose. Know that you both will be in the prayers of the entire Creekmore family beginning now. I will awaken my wife, Nancy, and pray for both of you in a moment. Here we go fellas: May our Father place you in the cup of His magnificent hand, protect and cradle you with His love and grace. He is the authority over life and death and will caress your cheek with His healing way. May He provide peace and understanding to you and your precious families, who will be the providers of love and support as you go through the next days.In the name of our precious father, Jesus Christ I ask for intervention in the lives of these two men.I am available night or day if either of you would like to talk about cancer, the intervention process, family support, chemo or just yell or cry. I am here for you. My name is Skeet Creekmore, telephone # (318)396-7010 (home) and (318)366-4744 (cell) Turn this over to your doctors and the Lord guys. Now is the time to bring those who love you close and allow them to help heal you in their own special way. May Almighty God Bless and Heal You from this situation. Skeet Please call if I can help This is a time to let others help as well and you have both reached out to the rodding community by posting here. The first movement should be upward, followed by ones to invite those who love and respect you the honor of helping you fight these diagnosis days and, God forbid, the treatment and elimination process.

You have my prayers as well. I tested "positive" for the the big 'C' in 2002, but it turned out to be nothing. The worst part was the doctor putting what looked like a trans-atlantic phone cable up my butt to look around...argh!

A friend of mine was diagnosed in 1994, and as Flagator said...he got mad and fought it like a rusty bolt. That friend is still here today annoying the Hell out of me on a regular basis. Never give up, and most of all, give it to the Lord.

My family and I sure appreciate your thoughts and prayers. I am going in for the colonocopy on Tuesday. the blood that was detected was in a stool sample and not from my prostrate. The PSA tests came back OK, but still am dreading the prognosis of colorectal cancer. The blood has to be coming from somewhere. Thanks again to all.

Add another! We're all scared to death of a cancer diagnosis, but as one who has survived that diagnosis, as others here have, there is indeed life after the diagnosis. There is indeed life after surgeries to deal with it when that is the only way. My bout was diagnosed back in 1995 and the surgery was 100% successful with no recurrence since, best of all suffered no loss of quality of life as the result of the surgery.

I may look at things a little different than most but after surviving rpg frag wounds (1968) and prostate cancer (1998) I just love the meaning and believe in this saying that I borrowed from a military veteran site: "You Do Not Greet Death, You Punch Him In The Throat Repeatedly As He Drags You Away."

You have our prayers from Australia too. I have learnt too well that we can beat anything if we keep our minds focused and positive.
Do yourself a favour and check Dr.Mercola's web site out. His aim is to blow the whistle on the medical practice as they operate today.
He is one who is heavily into natural cures. He can't be wrong ,as he has 1.5 million subscribers, 12 million views to his website per month, and there is also 150,000 pages of original content. You will find answers to any of your questions I'm sure. www.mercola.com

Thoughts and prayers go out to you, Dave and Dixie, from northwest Iowa. Early detection is crucial, and the success rate is very high. Keep your spirits up, for a positive attitude is important as well. I have a brother that had colon cancer, and was told he had at best a 10% chance to survive it after the surgery. That was 13 years ago, and there are no signs of trouble. Best wishes to you!

That's certainly great news. Now let's all pray that Dixie will also be fortunate. Hugs are always a good thing, but become much more significant when one has had a brush with the unthinkable. Family hugs are particularly important if one has small children or grandchildren.
