well it looks like it is going our way. since the price went up folks are using far less which is starting to a glut. personally i hope every damn spec trader looses his a$$. this is just a tiny part of it. if we continue to watch how we use it just think how bad we can hurt them. this also means not buying plastic goods . im still averaging 15 to 18 gallons of fuel a month. my bride has increased her millage to 27 in her

chrysler 300 and using about 3/4 of a tank less each month. it doesn't take much if everyone does a little.

we are down to 3.91 here so far.

Down to 3.81 here. The county just north of me is still 3.99, just 15 miles away! .We get our cheapest fuel at a convience store that is local to the east coast called Wawa.Yesterday the lines at the pumps looked like 1973 again. I waited and waited for a pump to open up.I definatly have cut my consumption of gas. But to look at the traffic around here, I don't think many people have done it. As soon as gas comes down a little more I think people will be accustomed to it and resume their normal driving habits....CR

3.83 this morning. Funny thing it's coming down as the conventions start up. 100 a barrel or less, and 3.49 a gal by election time.

you heard it here first.

fitzwell, your right, I was thinking the same thing a few days ago. It would be a shame if people couldn't make it to the polls to vote with the price of gas.

I guess nobody noticed oil on the world market is down from $1.45 to $1.27 a barrel. Do you think that might be the reason prices dropped? Do you think China, Japan or India care about conventions? Besides they are a month away. Maybe GWB had something to do with it? Should we give him some of the credit? He gets the blame when prices go up.

no joke..prices dropped because congress actually made noises about speculators & oil futures. The gator shoe schmucks saw the writing on the wall. No i don't think China, or India give a rats patoot about the environment. Which is why china has shut down 1.2 million vehicles, most mfg & construction aroud Bejing, so the Olympic athletes might actually breathe. And i dont thing GWB could beat Terry Bradshaw in a spelling contest....but that's a whole other story

I wanted the Hemi so I could have the GPS which will make it easier to find Bluff Dale Texas with the new air conditioned room and a new pool haha. The hemi drops down to 4 cyl when on the highway but still because of the AWD it looses miles per gallon. Thank god I tried leasing for the first time. In two years I just give it back and buy something else, like a 2 cyl or something. Can't go anywhere with the traffic up here anyway unless you go east on the Island.

we use so much more than anybody else we could cripple the market if everyone found a way to use one less tank a month. hell have yall forgot who we are ? we are the biggest economy in the world. we are the largest consumers on the planet. if you want prices to fall stop using it !

Around my area it's a mixed bag. Many have dropped from $3.99 to $3.89 or $3.83 in the last week. While a couple of others jumped from $3.99 to $4.06. These are all regular prices. Premium hasn't moved, and diesel is still heading in the $5.00 direction.

yep, can't get too excited over 2-3 cents per gal. if you figure on a reg 20 gal tank, a fill up will cost 40-60 cents less per tank. when it drops 50 -75 cents per gal, i'll get my hopes up.

bear, with the prices they charge, there should be topless attendants..... female.....just wanted to clear up any possible doubt by the way, you might want to fill up all your vehicles in the next few days. i hear crown point is gonna do like louisville & raise prices while the fair is in session!!

WOW must be nice to pay under $4 for a gal lol. Here on the coast of Central Calif it is $4.45 $4.65 and $4.75 Diesel is $5.05 Having two rods and two normal cars plus a 1 ton Ford Dully it hurts. The Dully and Mustang Cobra now sit most of the time. We drive the wifes Focus as it get the best mpg put I do miss my horsepower lol. As to my two rods well the 48 Anglia is nice to me in that it ask's to be fed when it needs it. The 34 Rodaster just drives into the station (does not even ask to be filled up lol) and starts filling up on the high grade stuff!!!!!!

I just bought a Camry Hybrid and more than doubled the mileage I was getting on my Jeep. Plus its not one of those little shoeboxes so I didn't have to make any sacrifices in drive or comfort to do it. So there ya go shine, I'm using half the gas I was using last month

I drive less in the van now and plan my trips but my big ole Montana is getting 17-19 in town and 25-26 on the highway with 6 adults happily inside. Yes, it would be nice to have the fuel economy of the Camry or Prius but where do I put all these people? I want to see automakers increasing the fuel economy beyond the 30 mpg they advertise as good. We have smart guys like Eriq to figure out how to get more fuel economy out of our daily cars or how to make alternative fuels like hydrogen work in the real world. This would leave more gasoline for me to waste needlessly in my big block muscle car :-) (ha-ha) Oh and BTW gas in Springfield was $3.77 today even with our high taxes on top!

$3.83 for reg'ler here today.

We rented a 2006 Charger with the small Hemi and drove up the left coast.   It averaged 22.5mpg and we never got on an interstate for any distance (except for the drive out to NHRA Museum at Pomona).
I was impressed by the Charger, but then it was brand new (we were the first to rent it).   We stopped in Sacramento and I had some bling put on it, just to see what it looked and drove like.   I seriously considered getting one when we got back.   It would throw your butt back in the seat pretty good and interior room was great.

But alas, my wife decided to keep her red VW Golf.   That tiny 4 banger (about the size of sewing machine) will raise the front end and go when you step on it.   And it gets 33mpg.   Now if we can only get the door trim to stay on.

It was $4.17 on the weekend, now back up to $4.29, of course Niagara Falls Ny is a tourist town, so it is inflated a bit. The Canadian side has dropped down to $4.95 but it was $5.46 last week. I agree with Shine, if everybody cut back aat least a tank a month, they would really feel it.

If you are coming to the nats in louisville next week, you better fill up before you get to town. Gas is running about 399 in now I am sure they will jack it back up next week. They do every year. It is cheaper about 30 miles out of town 388.
