this is a great run, It's more like a Street Rod party, For entertainment, they even had Uretha Franklin show up and do a few songs. Fitzwell and I also discussed the pick for the Streetrodding.com award, and we both had the same car in mind. Can't wait to get the picture to Eriq so he can get em posted

I might not be driving a Rod but I will be there. As I've said a long time ago. Nobody knows how to have fun like a coonass. These guys in LA put on the best runs.
You did a great job Saturday. I really enjoyed listening to you and the music selection was fabulous. I really appreciate you drawing everybody's attention to my crazy husband trying to drown his self in a washtub "bobbing" for crawfish, lol. But really, you were entertaining and it really added to the show.
Fitzwell, I live a mere 1200 miles from Hammond and I know it's a worthwhile show to go to. Can't wait for my next trip down. More fun is hard to come by.
Leon would you or any or our other "regulars" like to give out the StreetRodding.com Attaboy Award? I am trying to find someone to send a trophy in time for this event.

what a great weekend......those boys really do know how to put on a run. Leon, Robert, was good to finally meet y'all. Looking forward to Calcasieu in Feb.Might be a bit cooler : )
Folks, If you live within 5-600 miles of this , it is well worth attending. It is about the cars, & having a good time. Have met some really nice folks at this show, had a LOT of fun.
By the way, if a nice man named Fuzzy offers you some cherries & tells you it is a traditional New Orleans desert, by all means have some.....
normal?? Normal is a cycle on a washing machine

MAN!! what a run! great cars, fun people, and the food is just over the top..... Met up with Fitzwell and his other half, I wish all you guys coold have made it, These runs around here are way better that any big events....
Tammy, I got the trophy today and I sent E some pictures but Im sure there will be a lot more, This is only friday.......
Sweet Azalea and Seafoam Green or in plainer terms green and purple. You won't be able to miss it. It's pro street with a big hood scoop and really fat tires. We also have a trailer the same color we pull behind it. OK, who is shine?
Amen to the cherries and the being cooler!!! I think Randy moving their show to April can only make it bigger. It was definitely hot this time.
Brent.....I totally understand about the power parking stuff. I have only been involved in street rodding about 3 years, but my husband has been in it a lot longer (on and off), This year was the first time I have ever been to Louisville. I know that there are bad apples in every barrell, but I think somebody loaded them up and dropped them off in Louisville. I am used to the smaller runs where people are polite and even friendly to each other. Even at the two "mini-nats" (Springfield and Knoxville) I have been to I didn't see the sheer number of unfriendly and even rude people that I saw in Louisville. Throw that in with the .30 gas increase in less than 24 hours and it is a bad situation. But I didn't let it ruin my fun, lol. I guess it was just a good thing that it wasn't me that those people tried to "run off". I might have still been sitting there today out of sheer spite, lol.
If you want to see the other side of the spectrum. go to The Coonass Redneck Nationals in April. Make your reservations early, get in the host hotel, go on Thursday to get you a good parking spot, and park there. If you have to leave, just stick you a chair out there and your place will be there when you get back. This is just a good time with a bunch of good car people.
We will be there Friday. My hubby, son and friends are working furiously on a project for my son to take. We will be in the 37 Chevy Truck. I think Loup's Enterprises makes the event shirts. E-mail me off the board and we'll see about getting you one.
Big Al, You can contact Randy Wilson @ 601/684-2609 or Warren Livaudais @ 985-878-9221
(this info is off the flyer)
We have been to this show twice and the Saturday night "entertainment" is worth the price of the whole trip. Even aside from that, this is one of our favorite shows.
I will express mail a trophy to you tomorrow. Thanks a bunch. Take a picture or two of your winner so we can post it. We love supporting a great show like this. Al already contacted one of the guys listed but he was on his way to work on setup and we could not get a trophy to him fast enough. I will run over to UPS tomorrow and get them to send it out air.
Thanks for your help!

Angie, seem to remember talkiing to you and your husband for several minutes.on Friday at last year's show. Took a lot of pictures at the show and I think that your truck and trailer is the 26th photo in the event coverage that I posted here. (50th Coonass Redneck Nationals - posted 9/5/05). Check it out and if it is let me know. Remember talking to the owner for probably about 10 - 15 minutes. If it was you and your husband, you sure were great folk to talk with. Enjoy the show this year too.
Den, about the tee, you need to check with Fitzwell. If like last year, the shirts are sold by an independent dealer, not by the club itself. Seemed to remember that the shirts were about $15. Not as nice as nsra or goodguys shirts, but hey, where you gonna get one that advertises the Redneck Nationals! Very kool, indeed!
Angie...what color truck? I'll be in a 46 ford pickup....ask Shine what color : )

Hey, I cannot attend but I met these guys a few years ago at Shades and they are great. I lost touch with them but I sure would like to get a t-shirt from there event, I anyone know where I can contact them. Thanks.
Ok, so we had a great time!! Got to meet Fitzwell and did remember him from last year. Got to see Robert Aguillard from Calcasieu and Boy does he look great!! I saw Leon walking around with Fitzwell and saw him give out the trophy this morning but didn't realize who he was, Sorry Leon!! Any way, Other than being hot and a little shower on Friday, I believe a great time was had by all. This show is moving to April next year and it won't be so hot, so if you have a chance to go, take it!! I promise you won't regret it.
P.S. My son won the Moe Mileage award....for driving his 2 ton truck that gets about 8 ,iles to the gallon and was put together in 2 weeks to go to the show.
we need you guy's to tell Tammy the things you like about different show's..... especially the fun things that keep you coming back....we want our show to be fun

If I can just add my two cents worth.......At many shows I go to (the Coon-Ass Redneck Nationals included) there is much mingling, lol. The show is at one hotel with the overflow going to the hotel next door owned by the same people. You can walk around and look at the cars and especially when it's hot there are lots of people under tents. At one point, I was just walking around looking at cars and carrying my chair, because I wasn't sure who I would be "visiting" next. By far this is the most laid back show we go to. As far as planning a show, when you have car people and you have cars, it's kinda hard to get them all in one spot away from the cars (for example, at dinner) I have learned more about people and cars by just going up and asking questions. And believe me, if you start asking questions about the car, especially if they are complimentary ones, you can make a friend for life. This is also a better way for me to get to know people because I am terrible with names, and it makes it easier for me to identify people by associating their car with them.
N2tires, what kind of crap are you avoiding?? Just wanted to know.

No Problem Angie, Im sorry I didn't get the chance to meet you and your family, But I will make it a point to meet you guys at the Calcasieu Run.
As for this Run, Everything was fantastic, After being cooped up in the shop all year, It reminded me that it's not all about the cars, Its an oppertunity to meet up with lots of old friends and to also meet some new ones, It just so happens that we all have something cool in common.
I will get back with more tomarrow, and I got some great picture, I'll get them of to E as soon as I can, Its late and I need to get some sleep
As for the Streetrodding.com award, When I started looking for my pick I had in mind I was not going to pick a car in black primer, Im not a fan of ratrods and black prime screams ratrod, but when I looked this black primered car over I noticed the dash had really slick black paint and the more I looked at it, It was really straight This looks like its going to be a very sharp car, Fitzwell and I discussed it and we both came to the same conclusion. It went to a great project in progress by a guy who has spent countless hours in customizing & perfecting one of the hardest cars to make look really good. His name is Leroy Johnson with a 46 Plymouth,
Hey to all. This is Tank (the mc all day sat) was great to see everyone especially Leon and his wife! Had a great time with all. Hope to see all in April. Leon I will be busting out the new and improved 46 sedan at the show then. Until later...keep kroozin'.
Brent I am with you on this...I think it is great to be able to talk to folks in a more relaxed setting. I am thinking some type of cocktail hour thing with some finger food and cold drinks (leaded and unleaded for those of us driving) This would be a place where we can mingle and meet maybe on Friday night. I love the opportunity to chat with the cars but if we all sit at our cars how will we get together. The Paducah show has a dinner but sometimes you get full and sleepy. Maybe something casual and we can hand out a few door prizes or something to make it fun.

Leon, i see you were able to make a folder but not able to put any pictures into it. you should be able to just drag and drop pictures into that folder or else you could copy and paste them
