Guys, with our new site coming live soon (currently open to the public at beta.streetrodding.com) we are asking that when you post to the discussion forums PLEASE make your titles and summaries relevant!!! What prompted this request was a post today simply titled "Help!". That really doesnt help people out at all. Further, only the summary text and the title are added to the search engine so despite this guy needing help with a steering wheel no one will every know it by searching for "steering wheel". Thanks!

To be honest, I don't think the subtitle is necessary and it's really kind of annoying. If we have to have it, can the software just copy the first 100 characters of the subject and post it in the subtitle?

eric, by default it does that but our goal is to let you guys own the content of this site. for instance if you have a nugget of wisdom to share about painting a car wed like for that to become something that google indexes as relevant to painting street rods. to do that we need your titles and summaries to be relevant and useful because we set those in the meta tags of the page so google's robot can index them properly. then, down the road, when some rodder types in "painting street rods" we want YOUR page to show up in the index for people to click on and your advice and everyone's responses will be displayed for that visitor.


basically we're asking for you guys to help us make the site more useful to people, not trying to be hardasses (watch hardasses get indexed now hehe)

i hadnt received one from you skeet but bigAl's doing much better and improving by the day. he said today he feels better than any day since he went into the hospital. he's still having trouble moving and eating but we're told it's all normal Thanks for asking! If you guys have any suggestions or idea or complaints about the new site please let me know!
