I have bear claw latches on my roadster, round knob push down to open. The problem is the door keeps getting open while driving, need some ideas on how to lock or protect the knob from being hit. I am thinking of putting a small arm rest above the knob, but do not really want to do this. HELP

Joe -- Swap the latches around

rt to left, then ya gotta pull up to release.

That's how I've done mine in the last 15 cars and never had a problem with them opening.

Good luck

Such a simple yet effective solution to a potentially disastrous problem. That's one of the things that makes this site so great. By the way Don, I am really impressed with your latest "find" Boy I would love to ride in that mean boy just once (wearing depends).

Hey Joe, why do ya think he can build and sell 'em so quick? Cool little tricks like that abound in Don's cars! You could literally spend hours finding cool little things he's come up with and never see 1/2 of them. Don developed a very simple but very effective adjustable column drop that he builds into every car too! That way the buyer can easily adjust the wheel to a height that suits them!
