What a flawless night......Chesapeake Bay 100 feet behind the stage, big moon in the sky, nice balmy breeze, small audience, and the Street Rodders fav Trio = ZZ Top, up close and personal !!!!!!!

Our '33 was going to be stage left, but it was so windy that 20 foot of speakers had to be supported by big cranes. Ol Delivery was relocated and welcomed every rocker that came through the gate.

A night to remember !!!

Pix later.

Still rockin', Jim & Rosina

i watched about 20 min of them on classic concerts yesterday. they need to retire. it was plumb pitiful had i paid for it i would be pissed. i guess i'm just spoiled since i remember them as a texas blues band in a wore out van. in the 60'-70's they were bad to the bone.

I saw them in Peoria back in the 80's. Music was great, I could have done without the 16 year old girls on stage. They are coming to the Illinois State Fair for anyone wanting to see them for themselves, but I would get your tickets now.

They came through here in the late 90's and it was supposed to be and outdoor show, no funny stuff like lazers and girls or cars, just the three of them and Stix as an opener.

The city imposed a 10pm noise ordinance and they had to move to the brand new Idaho Stampede Center pavilion. First thing in there major. Even had a beer garden around the floor seats. Way tooo loud down there so we moved to the upper deck. Great concert. Three guys jammin' like they would in a bar stage.

Best show I ever went to and I went sober and stayed that way. They came back for encore after encore. Played all the old songs from their 60-70's days.

Kinda choked me up, I am a big fan. When I they first did the eliminator 33 ford, I saw it at a car show in Vancouver Washington. I was the lucky kid holding the winning ticket who got to climb inside and meet the band and sit in that red coupe with the Z's on the side. I remember staring at the keys in the ignition and wishing I could start it.........................ahhh the memories....

I saw them in 1996 here in Monroe, LA. and they were fantastic. Totally satisfied. Great hard hitting music and genuine performances. I gave cut an all ZZ TOP CD to be played in the '36 to clear out me ears. Not real impressed with their guitar work, but then again I am difficult to please instrument wise. I'll tell you why some other time - doesn't relate specifically to this thread.

I first saw em in 76 and a number of time since.   They better now.   Or maybe the sound systems are better now.
Saw em at Ky State Fair 2 years ago, guess I'm getting old cause it was too loud and me and my buddy in a wheelchair were sitting to the right of the stage, not dreckly in front of the speakers.   I put toilet paper in my ears and I could hear everything so much better.   Cirrusly.

They be some of the coolest guys on the planet, s'far as I'm concerned.

They be here again on Aug 14.

Hey, Screw............"Don't remember much" ??? He, he. Back in the seventies, if you went to a rock concert and said you remembered it, you were not there........dubers, left handed cigarettes...............LOL
