As many of you know, on the 37 Ford as well as 35-40 in general, the front fenders utilize several braces to the inner fenders, including one on the wheel side, which holds the fenders up and braces them side to side. On an aftermarket frame, these braces won't work as I see it. I have seen several home made solutions which seem to work fine. I also saw a set at Mr. 40's Fat Stuff that are made of stainless with a choice of mounting to the wheel side of the frame horn and ones that mount on top of the frame horn. They seem a little lite for the job. Any ideas or thoughts out there? Thanks

I can see doing that, Shine. What do you make them out of? Mount to outside of the frame or on top of it? Had to cut the inner fenders down, so the channel shaped bracket on the back side of the inner fender wishes to set on top of the frame. If you try to force it to the outside, I believe it puts to much pressure on the inner fender and distorts it. It would seem you need some support on both sides of the inner fender. (Toward the motor and toward the wheel.) There is not much else holding all that up!

yep, i make mine out of 3/8" rod & use flat stock for the mounting ends. that way you can make them to fit & drill/tap the frame for the mounting points

OK...3/8 rod, flat stock ends, and mount them inside, out side, top of frame, both? I even saw one that went down to the cross member!

on glass cars i use 3/8 allthread on the front. did the same on loyds 41. this way i was able to draw in the bottom to fit the grille, then made solid ones. as for braces what ever looks good. i bolt one tab to the outside and one on the fender. the decide how long it needs to be. position it first before measuring. push the bottom of the fender out behind the wheel.
