I have a 23 t that has a tire bounce between 40-45mph above or below this speed its smooth. Tires have been ballanced, toe set at 0 (radial tires)I've tried different settings on toe from 0 to 3 postive with no difference. All front end parts are in good comdition or new also adjusted air presure from 30 psi down to 10-12 this made the bounce softer but still there.

Has anybody had this same problem? Thanks

I had a coupe with a superbell axle setup and 4 bar that did the same type of thing..I balanced and rechecked, added a steering stabilizer..then ended up disassembling the car..my next step was to find a garage that had the older balancing capabilities to spin the wheels on the car as an assembly, rotors and all..may be worth a try..

One more thought on the tire bounce/possible out-of-round tire deal. When I worked in a tire shop, those many years ago, we had a balancer that also had a tire cutting attachment. It's the only deal I've seen like it till one of the rodding magazines had an article about the same sort of unit. It had a sort-of "rotary razor blade" that you'd carefully cut the tire of high spots as the blade spun and the tire rotated. You'd of course feed it from one edge of the tread to the other. We only used it a couple times. We'd have the customer drive on new tires a week or so to "break them in" and then have them come back to true them. Didn't really cut that much, and then we'd re-balance the tires but talk about a smooth ride! We didn't do it to tires that were out of our criteria for roundness to begin with, just did it to give that extra edge in smoothness. Quite a deal. Good luck finding one though, if you can.

I have to agree with Winfab, I had the some problem many moons ago. we even put the tire setup on another car with the same problems, Put his tire setup on mine problem went away. So i took them to a tire shop and that's what they told me. the tire was out of round.

Way more years ago than I car to remember, when I worked in a tire shop, the cause of what you described turned out to be an out of round tire. Usually they picked up a shake at a certain speed and lost it once another speed had been reached. Jack it up and spin it to look for "high spot(s)"
