I got to drive a 65 chevelle with a 454, 5 spd and 4/11 rear end to the shop to have the wheels changed after an auto detail person sprayed them with Purple stuff. He maned up and payed for them and the change over, I put a 5 spd in this car a few months ago and only drove it down the interstate. Lots of fun and gas mileage did improve. The other car came in yesterday, it is a 55 Ford conv. It is in for a complete redo and update. Fatman installed the front and rear suspension along with the motor and trans I supplied. The customer had already talked to them and they talked to me and we are going to do this car as a team effort. This is another gas crunch build. It has the same 5.4 32 valve engine I have in the mustang. It also has a 6 spd trans with ford 9" 350 gears. We will make a few body changes and keep it basically stock in appearance. I have put the last 6 months of hard work in the mustang and now it is finally ready for paint. Yeah I know some may think 6 months is a long time but I am not doing cars that you can buy everything for most I have to make myself. Our mustang is the first with the 5.4 motor and 6 spd so I can't call anyone and ask what to do next. it is all trial and error but we are getting there. I will post detailed pictures of this build if enough interest in here. thanks RED |
