This is what I am working on at the shop- I thought I had seen every kind of deer accident there was but this one shocked me.. This truck belongs to a customer who is a construction worker..he was on his way home from work about 3am -running 65mph and off of a bank jumped a huge buck- best part of the story was the guy wasnt hurt at all..few little scratches..So what did he do?? Put on his safety glasses and drove it on home. About 70 miles..He said he was tired so he wasnt gonna wait on a tow truck all night...Dont tell me them construction workers aint tough!!..:)

The question is: "Did he get the buck home?" Actually, your customer is darn lucky to be alive with that kind of hit. Somebody was really watching over him, that's for sure.

Lots of Deer accidents around these parts just like I'm sure Shine sees a lot of them where he lives.

With all the corn they're growing all over the country these days there are plenty of deer around. We have plenty in Fl. too. Keep in mind they generally feed at night so that's when the danger of hitting them is highest and if you see one, there are usually more following.Deer whistles and headlights on low beam are proven to help. This I have heard from the N.Y. State troopers that were having a big problem hitting deer and cut it drastically by installing the deer whistles. I have them on all my vehicles.

with all the tree huggers whining about killing bambi there are way too many deer. they are sickly and starving for the most part. believe me farmers dont take kindly to the states deer eating their crops. they need to cull the population .

The worst I seen, a few years ago one of my co workers hit a deer doing damage to his Bronco. Figured the least the deer could do was feed the family, put the deer in the back and started for home, the problem was the deer was not dead , woke up and tore the inside of the truck up before Jim could open the rear hatch and tail gate so the deer could get out.

oh my god! that is awfull! I hope noone was killed in that thing- we were just talking about hitting a moose the other day. I cant imagine- We did have a customer that had a small doe jump through the side glass of his mini van a few years ago. He had to stop and open the hatch to let it out... And I got the job of cleaning the glass- hair and Deer dung out of the inside..lol- I would say deer accidents are close to 50% of our business.. Good for the job- But I do think they are too thick atleast in our area..

My brother has hit six deer and one hit him in Michigan. His wife was driving on the Pennsylvania Turnpike and two deer were running straight down the highway. She hit both of them.

Several years ago my brother was driving to his banquet hall. Which was located a mile or so off of the highway. He knew deer would be grazing out there in early evening. So he drove real slow looking to his left. When a deer ran into the right side of his van and killed its self!

Damn Dave, at 3AM that construction worker could have hit the Taco Bell drive thru or something! Didn't have to actually eat on the run, ya know?

One of my employees was driving a mountain road a few years ago when a deer ran into the side of the company truck. The deer ran off but it dented the crap out of the truck. Had it fixed and later realized there was still some fur around the antenna mount. My guys wouldn't let me take it off, said it was a symbol of the trucks manhood, like a right of passage or something. The new nickname of the truck? Deer hunter. As in, "You gonna take the new van or DEER HUNTER?" Fun group!
