!947 Chevy pickup followed me home. Somehow it has survived the midwest all these years with very little rust except for the fact the paint was stripped and left for a couple years. Fortunately it was stored inside so it is light surface rust. I'll be storing it inside and wondered if it should be left as is or treated in some way to keep the rust from getting worse.

I hope to get this one done over the winter..... this winter.

I would guess that if it is in a dry storage setup you could leave it. Putting something on it just would mean taking it back off unless you are planning to strip it down to bare metal. If you were doing that I would throw on a coat of epoxy primer (I love that stuff) Maybe Leon or Shine will have a suggestion.

Ha.....that reminds me.....in '82, there was a '37 Chevy 2 dr for sale in the paper. Original owner. As usual, we got to his house with empty trailer and cash. Walked down a long steep hill thru big trees and saw the '37. He covered it with cosmoleen in 1948 to protect from rust. But the condensation got underside and rotted the floor.

Hey don't sweat it. Build it next winter. If not, sell it on this site.

Jim said it.
