I have 2 good GM EFI in tank pump setups. I have ordered the poly Tanks Inc. tank for my build. Has anyone put a stock GM pump unit into a Tanks Inc. tank. I know they sell a unit for their tanks, but was wondering if anyone has done this to save cost, and did you fabricate some kind of sump to keep the pump from starving? If so, details would be greatly appreciated. Mark

i built at least 12 custom tanks for body dropped S-10 with air suspensions and a 2005 SILERRADO using the stock EFI assembly, you do not need a sump the assembly it self retains gas it has a diaphram that lets gas in but not out it holds about a quart of gas providing your gas gauge is accurate you should not run out of gas, 95 is the last year you could buy the fuel pump only on S10after 95 they sell the whole unit only ,the price differeanc is huge like $51.00for pump versus $326.00 whole assemlyi have a freind who machines the mounting ring and is welded to new tank or bolteddepend on what the tank is made of, someone might make a kit i have not found it yet

Cool. I have 2 complete setups. One is from a '93 Camaro, and the other is nearly identical. They will bolt onto the tank-- I just need a gasket. Once the tank comes in I will give it a good look and see if it will mount up. Thanks for the info.. MC

if you have a good smooth surface the O-ring should seal

Make certain the pump is compatible with the engine. There are 4 different GM pumps. The sock MUST sit in the stainless steel slosh tray. All components must be stainless steel.

As I always say = build each method on paper then decide.
No problems, no fun with street rods.
