After a not so long of a search, I found the perfect, made to fit, Power brake conversion kit for my 54 Pontiac. It comes from an outfit called Total cost Involved out of California. Was I ever glad to find this unit. It's pretty slick. She just slides right in (I hope) to where the old one was , under the floor. The only thing is , is that I need to cut a different access hole to get at the master cylinder to fill or check the fluid levels. Also When I can finally switch 'er over to Disks, I'll just have to add a Proportioning valve to the riggin' and I'll be away! It listed for 349.00 U.S. But with the freight and our 13 F#$%^&*'n percent tax, it ran me a little over 500 bucks. Small price to pay to be able to stop safely, don't ya think??

I'm considiering the same. I have a unit from my donor car I can mount on the firewall. But, have considered putting one of these under the floor. Does anyone have an opinion? MC

Al-- I was just wondering the pros/cons.. I expect it "looks" better, but creates other issues being under the floor (leaks?), small booster?.... Heading out to your world today. Taking the kids to Treasure Island. Also have our marriage reserved for the Bilmar next year... MC

I'll take you up on that Al! We were over at Caddy's yesterday. Me and the better half are getting married at the Bilmar on 10/10/09. We have the penthouse reserved. Should be a fun time! The beaches there are the best. I already have a firewall mounted unit-- and I think I am going to use it... no reason for yet more expense.

Funny you mentioned it. I was thinking we were still talking about handguns and the Second Amendment.

I would have thrown in the typical "...for stopping power start at .38 caliber and go up from there. I carry a .40 cal Ruger P91 composite blah blah blah"

LMAO
