My hyd clutch hose is too short. I knew this when I had the truck together the first. Where can I get a custom made hose? Who makes them? It has the factory Camaro fittings on both ends, quick connect.

Thanks, Lynn

any hydraulic hose repair shop should be able to make one in a few minutes. I have blown numerous hoses on my backhoe and the local tractor shop here makes them for me while I wait......CR

I have been to 4 different ones as far as 50 miles away. Can't do it where it will stay. It is 3/16" teflon lined. They do not have the ends & will not make it longer because they say it will not hold under clutch pressure.

the rubber hoses I have made are under tremendous pressure. It is working the buckets on the backhoe, I

don't see how a clutch system on an auto could be any where near the same pressure.

I'm going out on a limb and suggest those 4 places probably don't have the right fittings and are giving you an excuse rather than just be frank about the fact they don't have the fittings. The tubing/hose could also be the problem for some shops.

Weatherhead is one of the more common manufacturer of hydraulic fittings and connectors. I think you can access their catalog online and what I would do is research their part number for what is needed for someone make the hose. You may also be able to find the correct hose in their catalog. You're going to have to get away from guys that have front end loader and garbage truck inventories and mentalities.

You might also try a shop that does aircraft hydraulics.

No, the typical hydraulic shop depends upon construction, trash hauling, and dump truck customers for 95% their business and that is where their inventory support primarily lies. Wheatherhead and other similar companies make thousands of different fittings in dozens of styles and it is simply impractical for the typical hydraulic shop to stock anything they have little or no demand for in their business. Most "industrially" oriented hydraulic shops got out of stocking automotive type fittings long ago because of lack of demand. That's why some of the automotive parts houses have gotten into hydraulic hose making. Usually an independent or someone with a CarQuest type franchise.
