That's only if it's dry off the bench.

Tommy

It was dry, and I was not sure how many quarts it would take to get back up to normal.

10 or 11 includes an empty torque converter. Fill the tranny (according to the dip stick), run the car to get fluid into the converter, then re-fill the tranny agian. Correct?

Put four quarts in, start it up and continue to fill while it is running. Depending on the size of the trans cooler it may take a little more than the ten quarts.

Did they change this proceedure after I got out of the buisness? I don't think so. Think the heat is getting to you.

I agree you have to put some in and run it first. I like to shift it from P to R to D and back to P and then add as needed while running. I don't know if shifting it does anything but it's something I was told many years ago. After I reach the right level I drive for a couple of miles and then check again while hot.
