I think I finally got something right. I won't know for sure until I get the rear-end fabricated to the frame (some time in the future), but I had to order wheels so I could get my frame rolling for my eventual move. It was almost impossible to find any wheels that would work for me because of the Jag (wide) rear end. The rear end required a bunch of offset to be right to work with the Jag hubs (like 40 to 60mm). And the front required basically no offest to work with the MII/Chevy brake combo. Basically, the ONLY rim I could find that might work was a 15" American Racing "Outlaw II" wheel. It came in both a 50mm and a -6mm offset. They were also inexpensive ($65 a copy). I got them in, and the fronts fit perfectly, but the rears need a 1/2" spacer because of the large lip on the Jaguar hub. (That scared me actually because I was afraid that extra inch would cause fender clearance issues). But, after measuring again, that lip on the hub was included in the spec. I had found. After mocking everything up-- BOTH the front and back came in at 65 1/2"! I should still have room for tire (I figure I have about 70" of wheel well. That should make at least ONE thing easier..... Mark

OH. And it ended up the 1/2" spacer was needed so the rim didn't touch the suspension bits in the rear as well. The rims fit perfectly. MC

Good stuff, you have earned an "Golden Atta Boy", redeemable at your kitchen fridge( unless you are lucky enough to have one in the garage). its a great feeling when you think you are headed in the wrong direction and all of a sudden you are where you want to be

I had a contract on my house and it fell through... I was about 1/2 boxed up. I am currently in Bartow and got a new job in Orlando. The better half is currently applying for jobs. Once she gets something we are going to go ahead and move. We were hunting houses on the far side of Orlando (as far from the Mouse as possible). We plan to be pretty close to Cocoa Beach-- My office is right at the airport. MC

Hey, Mark......your experience of one of the reasons Jag rears have not been used in rods for 16 years. The most critical item in installing any IRS, is the pinion angle. If the axel motion is not set at Noon time/12 o'clock/vertical to the asphalt, you will get wheel hop. The only way to get it right it to load the car 100% and have final tires and rims installed. Jim went thru the "School of Hard Knocks" on a '32 Ford Tudor/Jag back in "82. Give me a 8" or 9" Ford on coil-overs any day.
Sorry to pop your bubble.
No problems, no fun with street rods, Jim

I know Jim-- You have been warning me for awhile! I have confidence I can get it right! It's what I got, and what I am going to use. I'm still not skered! I got the front end done... so far no fatalities!
