O.K., shine. Auto is quick and painless.... 5spd. means clutch pedal, linkage, clutch fork(hydralic/manual) tango. (Read MORE TIME).

But, if it's for me, it's a shaker. If it's for sale it's an 200r or 4l60.

'46 ford sports car??? Wow. Can't say I have ever seen one of them..............................

Blksheep, yes they are rare, but after Shine finishes the 5" chop and 5 " channel and then pancaking the roof, and adding airbags to truly put it in the weeds, it will be a 46 Ford sports car. ;-)

Shine, 3 pedals. And yes it will be cool!

Hey Shine, I have a 5 speed behind a 302 Ford in my 50 Ford coupe. I love it. Must admit if I had to drive it around the Washington DC loop daily someone one would find me hanging from a tree. But in your case, I would rip across Texas with a 5 or 6 speed in a flash. (The overdrive in the 5 makes my little 50 sip gas to the tune of 23-24 on a trip. It has been coast to coast and border to border, no garage queen there.) So, Shine - Shift it!

Shifting will be fun, as long as the clutch is not too stiff. If the rest of the car is built for sports car feel it should be a great ride.

yall gotta remember i drive a 1ton diesel all the time. so i'm use to clutches. i plan on putting inderweed in the corners here on where the hell are we road the first plan was to build a coupe into a roadster but i could not find one. i'm just plain bored with building restorods. if i cant cut it up i aint interested . my roots are in customs not just sticking a sbc in something. time to play a little if you know what i mean. and there will be no w motor in any of my cars. thats a snobish click i want nothing to do with.

Hey I love the idea of what old shine has in mind for the inderweed, I was very interested in that car the first time I saw it when he started cutting it up. I tease him some about taking so much time doing it ,but I know he will finish it and i am also sure it will be top notch. This man actually e mailed yesterday when I needed help with installing a 200R in my 79 El camino and said if he could help to jjust give him a call and I did have to do that. He was the nicest and most helpful person I have ever talked too. I have been in the Auto repair business all my life and I think he is as knowable as anyone I know. To sum it up, I thank him and appreciate the help that he put forward in my case.

i have little to no use for custom built motors. like i've said before i know one man that can do it but it is not cost effective for a street car. of course this motor has a pos carter afb setting on it. it's built. will crank, everything works so i'm done. i am not going to get stuck with a headache that someone else started. my cars fire and run fine from the first min. i set valves, timing on the stand. plus they painted the ex manifilds with some of that silver junk. sticks like hell and smokes up the shop.
