Getting ready for trip to Indy. Will have top down sometime over the weekend(weather permitting). Wife has strange concept of driving with the top down and the windows up.(doesn't want to mess hair up) told her no way--top down/windows down. How about you guys and gals--any preferences. Just for fun.

Seeing convertibles, T-top cars and or jeeps with the tops down or off and windows drives me nuts. I say you either want a convertible or you don't.

I am just having some fun with the question. took the wife and 2 grand daughters for a ride Sunday and it was too windy for the youngsters in back seat. Wife tried rolling windows up and we kind of joked about it

Rosina would only cruize if the top drops. We wear red Air Ride hats. Back in the day it was choppers, Vettes, roadsters, ski boats.

Oh, yeah, she has been around since 1958.......

See ya at 35th Nats East this week

I love it. I've got (2) 48 chevy sedans and love them. I really wish I had a convertible. Hope to see you in Indy, if you are here thursday afternoon there is a kick off party in greenwood at a muscle car museum that is worth the trip.

I keep mine down whenever I can-If yours is like most rod convertibles it is as noisy with the top up as it is down... I know all that I have had were. Most conv-cabriolet owners will tell you the same ( if there tellin the truth) nice car!!

get yourself a ragtop, put the top down let your hair blow in the wind while you still got hair to let blow. Have had a convertible since 1970 until a few years ago. Really miss the hot days in the afternoon when we would just go ride with the top down in the cool evening breese. Nice car enjoy indy

Dave, you should have bought my 46 Ford Convertible. It had a Hartzcloth top with a headliner. No noise at all.

Top down, windows down. I drive a highboy roadster no windows and top is at home in the garage. Last year I drove 65 miles home from York in a thunderstorm. No top.Just drive fast, you don't get wet, but if you have to stop it is rough. But you should have seen the thumbs-up I got from everyone, Not just rodders. Drive Em, And be safe, Den

Dave, that 46 Ford Convertible was a great rust free all steel car that sat just right. It had the best of everything. It went to Alabama. I haven't seen it since I sold either. Probably should have kept it. I can chalk it up to one of the many mistakes I've made. My 56 Bel Air is anothersuper car that may be up for sale in the near future. I just don't know what I want to drive next.

that 46 was a super nice car- But so is your 56- it would be hard to find a better one. Are you goin back pre 48 or ?? I think I am gonna sell my bike and c5 vette convertible and buy me another pre 48 DRIVER with no shiney stuff underneath. I am so sick of the trailering thing -yet dont want to clean it up underneath everytime i go around the block..had my fill of that..

Dave, I might go back to pre 48 just not sure yet. If I do it will be something thats a driver, doesn't have to be shiney anywhere, just comfortable with out all the fuss. The trailering has got to get old fast not to mention the high cost of diesel for your big Ford truck.

When I built my 46 Ford convertible, I had it driveable. The interior was not done yet (no top either). I left my house at 6:00 am to go to GoodGuys in Charlotte, 75 miles away. Had a blast!! Came home about 11:00 that night, cold again. Oh yeah, it was 28 degrees!!! That is the only time I ran with the windows up. Still did not help much. It was COLD!!!!!!!!!

Hey Dixie I heard today that it hit 98-99 this week down there. I noticed when I was there that most FL people that stay there year round have hard tops at least where I was. Just something I noticed. ...Tommy
