WELL FOLKS - ALMOST LOST BOTH MY NEWLY FINISHED '36 AS WELL AS MY '59 'VETTE NITE BEFORE LAST. BAD STORM CANE THRU NORTH LOUISIANA AND BLEW OVER A RATHER BIG PINE TREE IN MY BACK YARD. HAD IT FALLEN ABOUT 4 DEGREES MORE NORTHWEST IT WOULD HAVE SPLIT MY NON-ATTACHED GARAGE IN HALF DIAGONALLY. BOY AM I LUCKY - IT BROKE RIGHT AT GROUND LEVEL. WHEW!!!

TOOK PICTURES AND WILL SEND SOME THIS EVENING. NO ONE HURT - EXCEPT MY OLE HEART. AND OF COURSE MY HOMEOWNERS WON'T COVER THE REMOVAL OF THE TREE. CAUGHT ONE BREAK WHEN THE TREE MISSED THE GARAGE -- NEED TO HUSH I GUESS - NEED TO BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT GOD GIVES US AND KEEP PERSPECTIVE.

Thank God, it didn't fall on the garage! That red Corvette is just like the one a friend of mine bought brand new in '59. He let me drive it. I said, "I got to get one of these!" I got a new '60 Honduras Maroon in color the next year. Seeing your Corvette really makes me yourn for the good ole days!
