As I've alluded over the last few months, I'm delighted to finally announce we can now do high temp ceramic coatings on headers, manifolds and your entire exhaust system as an authorized dealer of Performance Coatings! It's available in either Performance Chrome, Stealth Black or Cast-Iron Gray -- coated both inside and out -- at the same low price. There's even a three-year warranty.*

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to offer any discounts on these coatings since the prices are already rock-bottom. Gift Certificates are exempt as well. As usual, the customer is responsible for all shipping and desired insurance charges back and forth.

I've added more information and a separate ceramic price list to my website's Pricing and Shipping Tab about these coatings so you'll have it for future reference. Here's the rundown and fine print in the meantime.

Important ~ Parts Preparation:

All parts to be ceramic coated will be thermallly degreased and media blasted before coating. Parts that arrive heavily soiled or requiring additional surface preparation will be prepped for coating at an additional cost of $35.00.

It is your responsibility to disassemble all parts before shipping them to us. There will be an extra charge of at least $35.00 to disassemble any parts received by us that require further disassembly prior to coating. This also applies to headers that are in multiple sections (i.e., slip fit tubes).

Ceramic coating cannot be applied over chrome. It will be your responsibility to remove any chrome plating before shipping your parts to us. Any chrome shop can do this for you.

Please Note: * The 3-year warranty is null and void if you run the motor on a dyno. Stealth Black and Cast-Iron Gray are applied over Performance Chrome for double thermal protection at no extra charge. We recommend using only stainless steel hardware on your newly coated headers / manifolds, as well as on your valve covers above them. You are responsible for all shipping and desired insurance charges. These prices are subject to change without notice; please call to verify pricing before shipping your exhaust components to our shop.

Tammy, the turnaround time is only a few days (not counting the shipping, which is beyond my control).

Crazyhorse, I honestly don't know. I'm just an authorized dealer for the coatings manufacturer; as they say, I don't make the rules, I just have to make sure the customers are aware of them.

That is great news. I would love to get my headers on the list....I will have to check with the hubby for free time. I have the shoe horn style headers that require lifting one side of the engine. Sounds like a nice birthday present for me!!!

UPDATE**** Last night I went to finish the master cylinder job on the Camaro..we fought air in the lines for almost an hour and finally decided to drive it to see how it felt. Put the car on the ground and gave my husband the keys (his opinion is gold to me) and when he went to start it....Click, click. Oh crap battery problems but then he looked at me with the keys in his hand and the car is still going click, click, click. Well we scramble to get the trunk open, find a wrench and disconnect the battery. So......no car show for the Camaro this weekend unless one of the vendors has a 68 Camaro switch and any wiring I may have fried....I just cannot win!!!!! So the headers just took a back seat to potentially a new wiring harness. :-(

I've had 2 engine's on the dyno. Scared the hell outa me both times, had to leave the operators room!! when they throw the load to it, it's not pretty, look's like the engine stand is going to pull out of the concrete, the operator set's the timing for the best flash reading, which is to far advanced, cool motor cold fuel, less than 10 seconds under full load the header reading's were 950 to 1050, that's a lot of heat in a short time, expansion and contraction of steel and coating might not like each other at that quick a change, so no warranty. Oh yeah,,,got 2240 hp outa the baby,,I say, if it'll go through a engine dyno test ya got one helluva stout motor!! that's my thoughts...

Gotta agree 37tin, I have never run a shop Dyno on my engines but I watched the Dynomax booth last year and this year and I would say if it drives off the dyno.....it is ready for the track!
