I don't think I've ever been on rt 30 without a lot of construction! Where is it this year? I usually get on it at rt 896.......CR

The problem area is in West Hempfield Township, near Columbia.

From 896 there's not much choice. You could stay on 30 and exit before the problem area, around Centerville, and take the Lincoln Highway, 462, into York. A lot would depend on how far the backup is on 30. I may try that the first day.

CR55 ........81????? 81 is no where near you. You mean 83? There is a lot of different ways to get there for your area. You could take 462 out of Lancaster to York as Al said. It's a nice scenic route. I used to live down in Betterton Maryland (Kent County MD), so there are several other ways to get to York from the Dover area. If you like interstates, you probably would like US 40 West to Md Rte 272 to I95 South to 695 North to 83 North to York. But there are nicer routes and shorter as well,

If you wish,, I'll email you with some suggestions.

Absolutely orphans, if you can email any quick routes that Aren't interstates, I would be very interested. My car has a 430 rear and turnpike driving is a little difficult. ........CR

Al......we come up I83 from Baltimore. East one mile on US 30 to Harley Facory/Hampton Inn. Then back to registration on 30. Any problems on that 3 miles stretch?

Thanx Jim

Jim, there is no construction on I83 or on PA Route 30 west of I83.. You should have good cruising as long as you are traveling in the AM or before 3 PM. After 3 PM, you will have rush hour traffic on I 83 for the first 15 miles North of the Baltimore Beltway I 695, after that you will be good.

CR will send you an email with options.
