How could it be the inspiration for the song Little Duece Coupe and be built by Boyd Coddington? I remember the song from the early sixties. Boyd was building cars that long ago. Or am I missing something?....CR

Got it flipped around----- Old age ya know !

That CRAFT syndrom --Can't remember a F*ckin thing.

The song was an inspiration for the car . It was built in 72.

Sorry.

Although Boyd and I were buildin cars in the mid sixties together.

I remember having that album as a young guy(kid). I thought it had a picture of a highly modified deuce on the cover that had quad headlights and other goodies that didn't look like this 32! (could be senility) I have been wrong once or twice in my lifetime!!lol

I already suffer from CRS, I can't afford another disease.....................CR

This car was built after the album was released. The car on the cover didn't belong to the Beach Boys. This one was built for one of them when the song became so popular. Wasn't the cover car light Blue? Man, its hard to remember that far back.

Hey guys- To try and straighten out the confussion

The car on the cover of the album was built by Bill Cushenberry in 1961 and on the show circuit for years. Was just used for a photo shoot for the cover. None of the Wilsons or any other member of the group ever owned it. ( The blue custom)

Al Jardine of "The Beach Boys" Commissioned Boyd Coddington to build in 1972 as his personal toy.

It did tour with the Beach Boys Concert tour in 1973, then went back to his collection.

The car on the cover of the Beach Boy album was owned by Clarence Catallo of Dearborn Mich, at the time.. He built it originally, and the Alaxender Bros. of Detroit had done work on it and also George Barris had his hand on it. It has changed hands a few times but now is owned by his son, Kirt. Clarence became a very successful stockbroker and a car collector. We became friends in the late 80's. One day I even saw him driving a Can Am car in a suit and tie in rush hour traffic, on the way to work. He left this earth a few years ago.

And it also got onto the top 75 Deuces list for the anniversary also. EEK! There was a time and place in the early 60's when it was "cutting edge" I suppose. Mostly cutting and edges.

And Don's got a car for sale too.
