thinner is laq thinner. reducer was enamel reducer. now it is activator and urethane reducer. i dont care about cost when it comes to a paint job.

Some how it doesn't make sense to me to clean a gun that has enamel or polyurathene epoxy primer with laquer thinner. Does it make sense to run reducer through the gun and then clean with thinner?

Ok, what is wash thinner? Very important to me I get this right before I crack out my $$ gun. What should the can say on it? I am not near a automotive paint store so is ther anything at my local hardware store that will work or do I need to make a run?

it is just cheap lacquer thinner used for cleaning. you can use urethane reducer to clean with. cost a little more. i rinse with thinner then use a little urethane reducer to let set in the cup.

NEVER !!!!!! USE SCOTCHBRITE TO CLEAN A GUN. THAT IS HOW MORONS RUIN NEW GUNS. !!!!!

OK, what is scotchbrite?

it is an abrasive pad. lazy ass painters will leave color in the gun or running down the side of the cup until it is dry. then take scotchbrite and scrub them . i have fired more than one for doing this to one of my guns.

once you sand the cup with that stuff everything sticks to it. i polish my cups on a wheel so nothing will stick or stain.

While we are on spray guns, I have one more question. If the knob on the top back of the gun is for paint and the knob on the top left of the gun is for air, what is the small knob at the bottom? Is it for fine tuning?

Sorry, you are right, that one was. I was considering using it to shoot epoxy primer. I did look at my Iwata gun last nite and I think the knobs are on the back, but doesn't it have a small one at the bottom also? Should I use the Iwata gun to shoot epoxy primer?

sell that terd to someone else. all it is good for is wasting paint. use the iwata and just clean it up good when done.besides you need to practice with the iwata. shoot the epoxy like clear.
